What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a Career Development Program role, and why are they important?

To excel in a Career Development Program role, you typically need a background in human resources, counseling, or education, along with experience in career coaching or workforce development. Familiarity with career assessment tools, learning management systems (LMS), and certifications such as Certified Career Development Facilitator (CCDF) are often required. What is a Career Development Program?

A Career Development Program is a structured set of activities, resources, and support services offered by organizations or educational institutions to help individuals plan, develop, and manage their professional growth. These programs often include career counseling, workshops, mentoring, skill-building opportunities, and job placement assistance. The goal is to help participants identify their career interests, set achievable goals, and acquire the skills needed for career advancement or transition. Career Development Programs can be tailored for students, recent graduates, or working professionals looking to enhance their career prospects.

What kinds of mentorship or support can participants expect during a Career Development Program?

Participants in a Career Development Program typically receive structured mentorship and guidance from experienced professionals within the organization. This often includes regular one-on-one meetings, access to career coaches, and workshops focused on skill-building. Additionally, participants may have opportunities to shadow different teams, receive feedback on their progress, and attend networking events designed to help them connect with potential mentors and peers. These support systems aim to help individuals navigate challenges, clarify career goals, and maximize their growth throughout the program.

Job description

Working at Brassica is more than just a job. Here, youโ€™ll develop the collaboration, communication, and leadership skills that will serve you throughout your career while bringing communities together, supporting local growers, and making people smile every day.

TEAM LEADERS will have the opportunity to develop their powers of observation, delegation, and coaching while working alongside exceptional people, using high-quality ingredients, and serving our neighborhood.

If youโ€™re โ€”

  • excited about real, local, organic, and artisanal ingredients

  • passionate about cooking from scratch

  • curious, eager to learn, and open to feedback

  • looking for a fun, meaningful place to start or grow your career

  • thinking it would be awesome to be part of a restaurant Yelp named one of the โ€œtop places to eat in the Midwestโ€

ย โ€” then joining the Brassica team lead development program might be the perfect fit for you

We want you to be successful here, and will support you with:

  • thorough training in our professional kitchen and on the service line

  • top-notch teammates

  • an efficient, productive, positive work environment

Hereโ€™s what youโ€™d do:

  • create and serve delicious food alongside a high-energy team

  • use the best ingredients, including foods from more than twenty Ohio producers

  • prepare our signature sandwiches and salads from scratch

  • show up on time (every time), looking like a polished pro and ready to pitch in

  • move quickly, stand for six to eight hours per day, and lift up to 50 pounds

  • accurately follow our best known methodsย

  • encourage your teammates to focus and prioritize appropriately

  • use your best judgement to ensure our guests love their experience

  • deliberate over whether to get chicken or falafel when it's time for your shift meal

What weโ€™re looking for:

  • flexible, full-time availability, including full shifts (7:30amโ€“3:30pm or 3:00pmโ€“11:00pm) and at least one weekend day

  • must be 21 years of ageย

And our team gets great benefits:

  • youโ€™ll be hired in at our standard base rate (averaging $20 - $25/hr), with the opportunity for an increase upon completion of your ServSafe Certification and learning all of our stations, typically happening after six months

  • medical/dental/vision/life insurance

  • 401(k)

  • paid vacation

  • healthy lifestyle reimbursement

  • free meal with every shift (pretty much everyoneโ€™s favorite benefit)

  • endless opportunities to grow, challenge yourself, and have a good time doing it

All experience levels welcome.
