Job description

Position Summary:

The Workforce Development Specialist provides comprehensive career services including outreach, individualized planning, career counseling, employment readiness training, job placement, and retention support. This role collaborates with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless service delivery and positive employment outcomes for individuals served.

  • Community Engagement & Outreach: Cultivates community relationships and promotes program services through direct engagement, event
    participation, and strategic outreach coordination.
  • Case Management Coordination: Provides individualized support and service coordination to empower participants, address barriers, and
    foster sustained progress toward personal goals.
  • Career Navigation Services: Provides career counseling and job placement assistance tailored to individual strengths, interests, and goals.
  • Documentation: Maintains accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and funder requirements.

Job Pay & Perks:

  • Pay range: $25.87 - $36.29
  • This is a scheduled-hybrid role whose essential functions require work to be conducted at a physical location, which may include a GESMN or partner facility, at least two (2) days per week. The remaining days can be worked from the employee’s home office or a designated community setting as directed by the manager.

About You:

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures to support personal and professional development
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; able to represent GESMN professionally in all interactions
  • Demonstrated adaptability and openness to change in a dynamic work environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to meet deadlines and achieve program outcomes
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and skilled in accurate data entry across computer-based systems
  • Knowledge of data privacy regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Strong independent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience successfully managing a caseload and navigating complex service needs
  • This role requires a motor vehicle record (MVR) check (no major violations, not more than two (2) minor violations, and not more than one (1) accident in the past three years), and the ability to meet GESMN's authorized driver requirements, including:

    • Must have a valid driver's license

    • Must have proof of auto insurance with a minimum of $300,000 combined limit for bodily injury and property damage coverage

    • Must be 21 years of age or older.

Prior Experience & Education:

  • Relevant Experience required (1-3 years)
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
