Lifesteps is hiring a Full-Time Direct Care Supervisor to oversee a Residential Group Home in Avonmore, PA.    Avonmore is close to the Apollo, Vandergrift, and Saltsburg areas.

The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Position Summary:
 The Direct Care Supervisor is responsible for the overall management and handling of day to day operations of the Residential Community Living home.

 The Supervisor or Program Manager is responsible for:

  • the direct supervision of community home staff
  • scheduling, training staff, performance reviews,
  • oversight of care provided to the individuals who have intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • assist with caregiving duties as needed
  • documentation such as fire drills, client progress notes, medication administration, etc.

The goal is to improve the quality of life for each person by assisting them to live as independently as possible in their home and community.

Direct Care / Community Homes Supervisor positions are Full-time 40 hours per week and primarily work the Daylight shift of 7 am to 3 pm. On Call duties are required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

  • High School Diploma/GED and three (3) years experience working in a human service, direct care, caregiver, TSS, Home Health Aide, C.N.A., DSP, or related position
  • Current driver’s license
  • Obtain a Medication Administration Certification within 6 months of hire
  • First Aid/CPR certified within 6 months of hire
  • Lift, push, pull, or move up to 200 lbs. with assistance

Preferred:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent credits (60) and 2 years of experience working in a human service or Caregiving field
  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1 year experience working in a human service, social service, or related field
  • Degrees related to Education, Special Education, Counseling, Therapy, Psychology, Sociology, Social Services, Transition Programming, Nursing, Health Administration, or similar are preferred, but any major qualifies
