St. Ann’s Community is currently looking for a reliable per diem Resident Care Aides for Rainer Grove and The Glen located on the Cherry Ridge campus in Webster. The purpose of this position is to assist residents with activities pf daily living. Medication assistance and other related functions and tasks as directed by the LPN or Assisted living administrator.

Job Description:

  • Provides morning care, which may include bed bath, shower or whirlpool, oral hygiene, combing hair, back care, dressing residents, toileting and incontinence care, changing bed linen, straightening room and other general care as necessary throughout the day
  • Provides evening care which includes hands/face washing as needed, oral hygiene, shower, whirlpool,  toileting and incontinence care,  freshening linen, straightening room and other general care as needed
  • Assists in ambulating the residents.
  • Assists with one person transfers, walking, climbing or descending stairs
  • Assists with establishing and maintaining a toileting schedule to meet the needs of urinary or bowel incontinence.
  • Assists with medical equipment as indicated on the ISP, to include but not limited to Oxygen. Foley Catheter, Ostomy care.
  • Participates in socialization and activities with residents as needed.
  • Ensures residents are dressed properly and assists, as necessary.
  • Makes beds daily, empties resident garbage, tidies room, to include dishes, light housekeeping
  • Completes resident’s personal laundry, washes, dries and puts clothing away.
  • Accompanies residents to appointments, as directed.
  • Distributes drinking water and other nourishments to residents as necessary.
  • Answers residents' emergency call, anticipates residents' needs and makes rounds.
  • Assists residents with handling and care of clothing and other personal property (including dentures, glasses, contact lenses, hearing aids).
  • Reports and, when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents.
  • Participates in and contributes to Resident Care Conferences.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Completion of NYS DOH approved Resident Care Aide training and medication assistance training
  • Annual mandatory training as required by the DOH
