Cardiac Catheterization Technologist (Contract Position)
Join Our Cardiac Cath Lab Team
Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Technologist to support our growing cardiovascular services team. This contract position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative, patient-focused environment with a highly skilled team dedicated to providing exceptional cardiac care.
Our Cath Lab consists of one procedure room , allowing for a close-knit team atmosphere and direct involvement in a variety of diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
Position Summary
The Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assists physicians and clinical staff in performing diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures. This role is responsible for preparing patients and equipment, maintaining a sterile environment, operating specialized imaging equipment, and ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
Schedule
  • Monday through Friday
  • No call requirements
  • Variable hours based on procedural volume and department needs
Essential Responsibilities
  • Prepare procedure rooms, equipment, and supplies for cardiac catheterization procedures.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiovascular procedures.
  • Operate fluoroscopy and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
  • Maintain sterile technique and ensure compliance with infection prevention standards.
  • Monitor patient status and communicate changes to the clinical team.
  • Document procedural information accurately and completely.
  • Assist with patient transport, positioning, and post-procedure care as needed.
  • Participate in quality and patient safety initiatives.
  • Maintain equipment and report operational concerns promptly.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or related program.
  • Current certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) preferred, or Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) with cardiac catheterization experience.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of five year of recent cardiac catheterization laboratory experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sterile technique, cardiovascular anatomy, and cardiac procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and patient safety.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing procedural schedules.
  • Proficiency with cardiac catheterization equipment and electronic documentation systems.
