Lab Tech for Commercial Asphalt

Job Description

At Spencer Quarries Incorporated, we are seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to join our team as a Lab Tech for our Commercial Asphalt division. As a Lab Tech, your primary responsibility will be to assist the Lab Foreman in testing the Aggrate and Asphalt for DOT and private jobs.

We are a EOE & a Pre employement Drug Screen & Physical is required.

Pay: $25- $35 / hr DOE

This is a Construction Season Full Time position with full benefits

What to expect on with this job

  • Hours are usually 10 plus hrs / day 5 days a week - rarely a Saturday work
  • Some travel required in the Southeast area of State
  • Depending on Jobsite - overnight stays are suggested but not required

Responsibilities

  • Coring of road
  • Collecting any type of sample needed
  • Preforming test of samples
  • Entering of results on computer

Requirements

  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions.
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn from experienced team members.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • QC/QA certifications prefered.
  • Early mornings are a must.
