Job description

Pay Rate: $1,800.00 - $2,100.00 gross per week

Number of Positions: 1

Start Date: Start as soon as cleaered (~ 4wks to onboard < 120 commitment)

Length: 3 months - 1 year commitment will accept

Schedule: Orientation at the Service Unit will be provided on the first day of duty.

The Laboratory hours of operation are 24/7; the overnight/weekend shift will be filled by contractor which entails six 12 hour shifts and one 8-hour shift with rotating weekends and rotating call schedule. Other possible shifts may be utilized at the Laboratory oversightโ€™s discretion.

Additional information :

  • Technical:
  • Performs standardized and non-standardized clinical laboratory tests in the sections of hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, Blood Bank, Microbiology, and the reference laboratory. This involves following the procedures and processes as described in the manuals.
  • Performs Daily Start up and shutdown procedures on the instruments/analyzers. Performs maintenance and troubleshooting on the same instruments and maintains accurate and orderly documentation log records, worksheets and other laboratory records where required according to established department protocol and credentialing agencies.
  • Performs quality control and critical assessment of quality control results on all instruments in the laboratory. Initiates investigative action when quality control is unacceptable and corrects observed variances.
  • Troubleshoots unusual or unexpected patient results, repeating patient testing as required and follows the procedure for reporting critical results
  • The contractor shall assist in the maintenance of the RPMS lab package and the reference laboratory interface as needed.
  • The contractor shall be able to draw blood on all age groups.

Non-Technical:

  • The contractor shall provide clerical support and demonstrate proficiency in the use of computers, telephones, copier, shredder and fax machine.
  • The contractor shall participate in the proficiency testing program and accreditation compliance.
  • The contractor shall support and promote the facility and IHS vision and mission objectives.


REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 2-3 years Clinical laboratory experience to include blood bank.


CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • ASCP or AMT certification required with minimum 2-3 years Clinical laboratory experience to include blood bank.


LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Any State License
