Starting Pay Rate: $20.00/hour
Schedule: 6:00am-2:00pm (plus overtime as required)
Job Summary
The general purpose of this position is responsible for all aspects of car cleaning and the inspection, care and maintenance of equipment used in the cleaning process. The person must be able to read and understand Watco work orders, make safe confined space entries wearing movement and sight restricting personal protective equipment with limited lighting to clean the interior of tank and hopper cars in compliance with Watco EHS policies and procedures. Inspect clean railcar interiors for compliance with customer, FRA, AAR and Watco requirements and complete cleaning checklists as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Interpret job work orders to perform required cleaning of railcar interiors per procedures
• Coordinate and complete railcar cleaning in an efficient manner and within assigned hours
• Utilize industrial power washer to clean the inside and/or outside of the railcar
• Utilize other various tools to help clean the railcar such as scrapers and augers
• Operate a mini skid steer, telehandler, or forklift daily
• Notify supervisor of any materials and/or equipment required to ensure completion of job tasks
• Interact with crew members in a team environment, as well as with supervisor
• Follow all safety rules, keep work area clean and comply with all Watco Environmental Health and Safety Policies
• Ensure FRA, AAR, and customer quality assurance standards are met
• Any other duties as assigned such as special projects
