Corporate Project Engineer III / Senior Corporate Project Engineer

Location: West Chester, Ohio

Salary Range: $120,000–$160,000, depending on experience

Travel: Regular travel to Greater Cincinnati facilities, occasional travel to Houston, and very limited travel to New Jersey

Position Overview

HiFyve is hiring a Corporate Project Engineer to lead the planning and execution of capital projects across multiple chemical manufacturing facilities. This position may be hired at the Engineer III or Senior Engineer level based on the candidate’s experience and technical background.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 10–15 years of project engineering experience, although candidates with fewer than 10 years may be considered at the Engineer III level. This person should bring strong project execution fundamentals while remaining flexible enough to work within established corporate systems and processes.

The Corporate Project Engineer will manage multiple large and small projects, allowing site and process engineering teams to remain focused on process improvements, technology development, and plant support. A key part of the role will be defining stakeholder requirements early, establishing a clear project scope, and controlling scope changes throughout execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead capital projects from initial feasibility studies through planning, execution, startup, closeout, and post-project review.
• Develop project charters, scopes of work, preliminary budgets, execution plans, schedules, and capital expenditure requests.
• Prepare detailed project budgets, finalized execution scopes, Gantt charts, and activity-based schedules.
• Manage project scope, cost, schedule, safety, environmental performance, quality, and delivery of business objectives.
• Define and document stakeholder requirements to establish clear project expectations and minimize scope changes.
• Manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity across several manufacturing locations.
• Coordinate project activities among operations, maintenance, engineering, EHS, quality, and business leadership.
• Qualify, select, coordinate, and evaluate outside engineering firms, contractors, equipment suppliers, and service providers.
• Support the evaluation, selection, procurement, and installation of process equipment and other project deliverables.
• Participate in equipment installation, commissioning, startup, and project turnover activities.
• Provide regular project updates, cost forecasts, schedule reports, risk assessments, and performance reporting.
• Maintain and improve corporate capital-project procedures and engineering standards.
• Support the development of annual capital and operating budgets.
• Apply continuous improvement principles to project engineering processes, project execution, and waste reduction.
• Ensure projects comply with applicable safety, environmental, process safety, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least four years of project engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong preference for approximately 10–15 years of experience supporting capital projects in chemical manufacturing, refining, petrochemical, or another process-driven industrial environment.
• Experience managing capital projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Experience developing and implementing capital-project work processes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project scope, budgets, schedules, contractors, safety, and stakeholder expectations.
• Knowledge of process equipment installation and industrial construction practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Working proficiency with AutoCAD or comparable drafting software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with plant leadership, engineering, maintenance, operations, EHS, quality, vendors, and contractors.
• Ability and willingness to travel to supported manufacturing facilities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Project engineering experience within a chemical plant, refinery, or similar process-manufacturing facility.
• Advanced coursework or a graduate degree in engineering, management, chemistry, or a related discipline.
• Professional Engineer certification.
• Project Management Professional certification or comparable formal project-management training.
• Experience supporting Process Safety Management programs and regulated manufacturing operations.

Physical and Safety Requirements

This is a safety-sensitive position. Candidates must be able to access active manufacturing areas, climb ladders, navigate stairs and catwalks, work around heights of up to approximately 50 feet, and occasionally lift or maneuver up to 50 pounds. The selected candidate must also be able to satisfy applicable medical monitoring, respirator-fit testing, and substance-testing requirements.
