How you create impact
The Capital Projects Business Development Manager is responsible for leading Business Development activities in the Capital Projects space jointly with the team. This position is critical to assess customer market, define project pipelines and manage bids. It is a customer-facing function that builds strong relationships with customers based on reliability, innovation, expertise, and trust.
Operational / Tactical duties
โ€ข Generate and maintain a project pipeline based on a defined geographic market and/or customer base
โ€ข Execute the strategy (market potential / gap analysis / competitive landscape) and prioritizing opportunities based on the Project Logistics Roadmap goals.
โ€ข Identify opportunities and create teams to jointly develop these into firm project awards
โ€ข Coordinate global tenders and bids to major potential customers including obtaining approval from relevant stakeholders, such as the IPMT
โ€ข Monitor pipeline and success ratio, take corrective actions with Capital Projects Manager, where required
โ€ข Organize regular communication with relevant stakeholders (Global/National Project Logistics Team, Tender Management, etc)
โ€ข Provide regular progress updates to Capital Projects Manager and select stakeholders (e.g. IPMT, Board), if requested
โ€ข Manage and maintain customer opportunities and pipelines in CRM tool
Leadership Responsibility
โ€ข Communicate a clear goal to relevant stakeholders and obtain buy-in
โ€ข Collaboratively acquire new project business by involving the relevant internal/external stakeholders
โ€ข Closely aligning strategic direction and team goals with the Capital Project Manager
โ€ข Act as role model for Compliance and HSE related matters
โ€ข Contributing to a collaborative environment between all Project Logistics Development Functions, Operations, Technology, Geographic and Technical Leadership
Financial Responsibility
โ€ข Define budget and monitor the growth potential of account portfolio
โ€ข Manage the achievement of optional results, KPIs and ROI in line with the business targets and strategy
Strategic Responsibility
โ€ข Ensure that customers are targeted for business development who fit the Project Logistics Roadmap and other strategic goals
โ€ข Create business and account plans for stakeholder engagement and decision making
โ€ข Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders of our Global and National target customers. Identify potential customers and pursue business opportunities in alignment with respective Account Owner or directly
