Job description

PROJECT MANAGER - CAPITAL & ENGINEERING - CARROLLTON, TX

OVERVIEW:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of operational procedures, documenting processes, managing various projects to improve efficiency, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and tracking key business metrics across the organization. The role may have focused areas of responsibility based on the needs of the business

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Capital Policy Governance:

  • Own end-to-end adherence to the Teasdale capital policy. Every project moves through scope CAR approval PO execution closeout in the correct sequence with complete, auditable documentation.

  • Maintain the integrity of the approval chain - quotes routed correctly, signatures captured, exceptions escalated, and documented.

  • Coordinate Terms & Conditions reviews with legal, procurement, and engineering; track redlines through to executed agreements.

  • Identify recurring policy bottlenecks and propose process improvements; the policy should get sharper every year, not heavier.

Portfolio Visibility & Executive Reporting:

  • Own the single source of truth for capital portfolio status. Monday.com is the operating system; the EPM is responsible for its accuracy.

  • Produce the monthly capital review deck for the leadership team - decision-ready, concise, data-backed.

  • Surface portfolio-level risks, slips, and budget exposures to the Director and leadership team before they appear in a status review.

  • Provide finance with accurate forecasts and actuals reconciliation against the approved portfolio.

Cross-Functional Alignment:

  • Serve as the primary corporate engineering interface with the 6 plants for project status, schedule changes, and downtime impacts.

  • Coordinate the meeting cadence that keeps the portfolio aligned: weekly project standups, monthly portfolio reviews, and cross-functional working sessions.

  • Manage vendor and contractor communications related to project administration - quote routing, PO triggers, milestone confirmations.

  • Hold cross-functional partners (procurement, legal, finance, plant ops) accountable to commitments and deadlines that affect portfolio delivery.

Documentation & Audit Readiness:

  • Own the capital project documentation system: scope documents, CARs, change orders, vendor records, and closeout packages.

  • Ensure the portfolio is audit-ready at all times - internal audit, external audit, or executive deep-dive.

  • Maintain the historical record of capital decisions for future portfolio planning and post-completion review.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • 5+ years of project management, PMO, or capital project governance experience supporting capital, construction, or manufacturing portfolios.

  • Demonstrated ownership of a multi-project portfolio (3+ concurrent projects, ideally 10+) with measurable delivery outcomes.

  • Strong working proficiency with project management tools - Monday.com, Smartsheet, MS Project, or equivalent - including building views, automations, and roll-up reports.

  • Advanced PowerPoint skills - can independently produce executive-grade decks from raw data.

  • Working knowledge of capital project lifecycle: scope, AFE/CAR, approval, PO, execution, closeout.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive accountability across functions without a direct reporting line.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication - this role represents corporate engineering to plants, vendors, and leadership.

  • Bias for proactive follow-up - comfortable politely chasing people until commitments close.

WHAT WE'D LIKE TO SEE:
  • PMP, CAPM, or PRINCE2 certification.

  • Food, beverage, CPG, chemical, or other regulated manufacturing background.

  • Prior experience in a multi-site corporate function supporting plant operations.

  • Direct experience with Monday.com (we will not require it, but we will not have to train it either).

  • Procurement, sourcing, or contracts background - understands T&C language and what triggers legal review.

  • Finance literacy - can read a CAR, understand capital vs. expense treatment, and reconcile against actuals.

  • Construction or EPC project coordination experience.

  • Experience building and maintaining a project management standard or PMO from the ground up.
