We are pleased to announce an opening for a Project Engineer at our Dayton site as part of our early career rotational program.The ideal candidate will play a vital role in the execution of capital projects, collaborating closely with various engineering teams, including Manufacturing Technology, Automation & Process Control, Electrical Design, and Process Engineering. This position also works alongside support functions such as Procurement, Quality, and Construction to deliver technically outstanding projects that are completed on time and within budget.

Through our rotational program you will experience hands-on assignments, peer and mentor connections, and technical and leadership training.In this program, you will be responsible for implementing engineering best practices, analyzing and improving processes, and contributing to projects aimed at enhancing safety, product quality, and equipment or infrastructure. You will have the opportunity to take on varied roles such as Production / Process Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Equipment Reliability & Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Product Quality, Technical Service, and Operations Management.

Responsibilities:


Collaborate effectively with contracted engineering firms to ensure project alignment and success.
Provide engineering design, equipment specification, procurement, and installation and commissioning support for capital projects at Dayton.
Oversee the technical details of capital projects, including defining project scope, creating vendor bid packages, and managing cost control and estimation processes.
Manage project engineering through startup and commissioning to ensure project objectives are met.
Develop detailed plans, designs, and time estimates, while overseeing the construction process to ensure compliance with project timelines and budgets.
Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings, safety improvements and schedule improvements.
Actively support and uphold safety, health, and environmental regulations and programs throughout all project phases.

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

  • Minimum of 6 months of paid co-op or internship equivalent experience in your engineering discipline/major.

  • Legal right to work in the United States without any employment restrictions.

  • Microsoft Office proficiency required.

  • Critical thinking & Problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively and proactively with a strong sense of project ownership in a team environment is a requirement.

  • Understanding in Capital Project Processes such as Front-End Loading, Project Execution, and Project Controls

  • Willingness to be on-call for plant area support when required.

  • Multi-year commitment to complete a minimum of two assignments (usually 12-24 months per assignment).
