Job description

The Delivery Driver is responsible for safely, securely, and efficiently transporting goods to customers, ensuring timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer service. This role requires attention to detail, reliability, and adherence to company policies and traffic laws.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Follow the route plan provided and designed for on-time deliveries.
  • Receive, sort, and separate inbound freight as assigned.
  • Scan freight upon receipt, loading, and delivery of product.
  • Maintain proof of delivery and obtain customer signatures while meeting established delivery deadlines.
  • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety issues.
  • Ensure the safety and security of all cargo during the loading and unloading process.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety guidelines, and company policies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, representing the company professionally.
  • Assist with warehouse duties or other tasks assigned.

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the local geography of the region and the ability to adapt to and drive safely in different weather conditions.
  • Ability to operate electronic scanning equipment for order tracking.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent required.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Continuous driving and the ability to lift up to 75 pounds with continuous lifting throughout the day
  • Ability to move, push, pull, lift, bend, kneel, crouch, and stretch.
  • Ability to climb in and out of the vehicle multiple times per day.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs .
