Job description

Sales EstimatorPosition Summary

Cap Edge Construction is seeking an experienced Sales Estimator to join our growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for inspecting residential and commercial property damage, preparing accurate estimates, communicating with insurance carriers and homeowners, and helping guide projects from initial inspection through contract execution.

The ideal candidate has experience in insurance restoration, is proficient in Xactimate, communicates professionally, and takes ownership of delivering an exceptional customer experience.


Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect residential and commercial properties for water, fire, mold, and other property damage.

  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates using Xactimate.

  • Meet with homeowners, adjusters, consultants, and other stakeholders to review project scope.

  • Negotiate estimates and supplements with insurance carriers.

  • Develop project scopes that align with industry standards and insurance guidelines.

  • Coordinate with project managers to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to production.

  • Maintain timely communication with customers throughout the estimating process.

  • Track estimate status and follow up on outstanding approvals.

  • Document job progress using company software, photos, and notes.

  • Meet sales and gross profit objectives while maintaining high customer satisfaction.

  • Build and maintain relationships with adjusters and referral partners.

  • Represent Cap Edge professionally in all customer and industry interactions.


Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of estimating experience in the restoration or insurance repair industry.

  • Proficiency in Xactimate.

  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods and materials.

  • Experience working with insurance carriers and supplements.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

  • Ability to climb ladders, access attics, crawlspaces, and inspect damaged properties.


Preferred Qualifications
  • IICRC Certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, AMRT, etc.)

  • Experience with Contractor Connection, Lionsbridge, Sedgwick, or other TPA programs.

  • Experience using Dash, Encircle, Matterport, or similar restoration software.

  • Existing relationships within the insurance restoration industry.

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.


Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 annually (depending on experience)

Plus Commission
