Job description

Position Summary...The Director of Technical Program Management – Enterprise Prioritization Enablement plays a critical role in operationalizing Walmart’s enterprise product priorities by connecting strategy, product intent, and engineering execution. This leader supports the enterprise prioritization agenda by driving alignment, surfacing tradeoffs, and ensuring clarity across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
Operating at the Director level, this role is highly hands-on and execution-oriented, while still requiring strong strategic judgment and technical depth. The Director partners closely with Enterprise and Segment Strategy teams, Product leaders, and Engineering teams to translate priorities into executable plans, produce executive-ready materials, and manage interdependencies that impact delivery, sequencing, and value realization.
This position is essential to ensuring that enterprise decision-making is informed by real engineering capacity, platform dependencies, and technical constraints — enabling leaders to make grounded, high-quality prioritization decisions. What you'll do...What You’ll Do
  • Partner with Strategy, Product, and Engineering leaders to support prioritization efforts, with a focus on enterprise, segment, and functional priorities.
  • Drive development and maintenance of materials, templates, and documentation used for priority reporting updates across EC, GLM, and Global Product Area forums.
  • Prepare content and analysis to support Executive Committee Forums, including risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and decision points.
  • Analyze platform dependencies, technical constraints, and engineering capacity to inform prioritization, sequencing, and resourcing decisions.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, fact-based narratives that enable executive understanding and alignment.
  • Identify and manage cross-team dependencies, ensuring alignment across product areas and engineering teams.
  • Build trusted cross-functional partnerships across segments.
  • Monitor execution progress across multiple programs, proactively identifying risks, issues, and opportunities for course correction.
  • Define and apply enterprise prioritization and tracking frameworks that help teams dynamically re-sequence work as conditions change.
  • Partner with TPMs, product managers, engineering leads, and business strategy partners to improve consistency in ways of working, communication, and execution discipline.
  • Support senior leaders by providing structured analysis, options, and recommendations that accelerate decision-making.

What You’ll Bring
  • 7+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering program management, product management, or a related technical leadership role.
  • Proven experience driving complex, cross-functional programs with significant technical dependencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to simplify highly complex, ambiguous technical and organizational problems into clear, actionable deliverables and insights.
  • Strong understanding of engineering practices, system architecture, platform dependencies, APIs, cloud technologies, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to assess and explain engineering tradeoffs and constraints in the context of business priorities.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating executive-facing materials.
  • Ability to adapt messaging for a wide range of audiences, from deep technical discussions to executive decision forums.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across teams and functions without formal authority.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with comfort operating in ambiguity and rapidly changing environments.
  • Bias toward action and ownership – comfortable getting into the details to design, test, and implement solutions, not just recommend them.
  • Experience mentoring TPMs or leading small teams is a plus.

Success in This Role Looks Like
  • Clear Prioritization Support – enterprise leaders consistently receive clear, technically grounded insights that improve prioritization decisions. Complexity is reduced, decisions are faster, and tradeoffs are explicit.
  • Execution Transparency – risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs are surfaced early, with clear paths forward.
  • Technical Credibility – product and engineering teams trust this leader’s judgment and recommendations.
  • Operational Excellence – priority reporting and trade-off materials, forums, and updates run smoothly, predictably, and with increasing quality over time.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment – fewer surprises, tighter coordination, and better outcomes across product and engineering teams.
  • Continuous Improvement – prioritization, reporting, and execution frameworks become more scalable and repeatable over time, evolving into durable enterprise capabilities.
  • Servant Leadership – teams feel supported, enabled, and unblocked rather than governed.
