Job description

We are working with a local Lexington CPG manufacturing company that is looking for a Warehouse, Transportation & Logistics Manager. This role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective movement of raw materials from distribution, warehouse to production and finished goods to customers, delivering industry leading service levels to customers. In this role you will oversee warehouse operations, transportation execution, inventory accuracy, carrier management, and 3PL relationships while driving continuous improvement initiatives that support company growth. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day operational execution.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead all warehouse and distribution center operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, and cycle counting.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy targets are consistently achieved through disciplined inventory management practices.
  • Establish and maintain warehouse KPIs including inventory accuracy, productivity, storage utilization, order accuracy, and labor efficiency.
  • Develop warehouse processes and standard operating procedures that support growth and scalability.
  • Manage warehouse staffing, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Optimize warehouse layout, storage strategies, and material flow to maximize capacity and efficiency.
  • Lead all transportation planning and execution of outbound freight.
  • Manage carrier relationships, freight brokers, and transportation service providers.
  • Monitor and improve transportation costs, service levels, appointment compliance, and on time delivery performance.
  • Develop transportation strategies to support customer requirements, while maximizing spend.
  • Identify opportunities to improve freight efficiency through consolidation, routing optimization, and network design.
  • Manage transportation budgets and drive continuous freight cost reduction initiatives.
  • Serve as primary relationship manager for third party warehouse and logistics providers.
  • Establish performance metrics, service level agreements, and scorecards for all 3PL partners.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and drive accountability for service, inventory accuracy, and cost performance.
  • Evaluate future warehouse and distribution network requirements to support business growth.
  • Ensure materials are moved between facilities, and staged to support operations.
  • Partner closely with Supply Planning, Customer Supply Chain, Procurement, and Manufacturing teams to ensure product availability and customer service objectives are achieved.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives while maintaining required service levels.
  • Monitor inventory health, aging inventory, and warehouse capacity utilization.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for inventory discrepancies and service failures.
  • Lead warehouse and transportation improvement projects focused on cost reduction, productivity, and service enhancement.
  • Support implementation and optimization of warehouse management, transportation management, and inventory planning systems.
  • Develop operational dashboards and reporting to provide visibility into key performance indicators.
  • Utilize data analytics to identify trends, opportunities, and operational risks.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, Business, or relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in warehouse, distribution, transportation, or logistics leadership roles in manufacturing.
  • 3+ years of direct people management experience.
  • Experience managing transportation operations, carriers, and freight spend.
  • Experience managing warehouse operations with responsibility for inventory accuracy and customer service performance.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and distribution best practices.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing 3PL providers.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Builds and develops high-performing teams.
