Job description

Rogers Group is currently seeking anArea Production Managerbased out ofHopkinsville, KYfor our four operations in Western Kentucky reporting directly to the SMA Vice President. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to recruit, train, develop, andย retainย employees while focused on uncompromised excellence in safety, quality, and productivity.

Job Responsibilities:ย 

  • Creates andย maintainsย a culture where safety is the number one priority at all locations.ย 
  • Plans operating schedules to meet sales demand with maximum efficiency and equipmentย utilization.ย 
  • Prepares reports on production,ย manpower, budgets, etc. for use in corporate business planning.ย 
  • Prepares and implements mine plans at all locations to maximize reserve life and minimize overall production cost.ย 
  • Schedules maintenance of equipment and/or plants toย insureย maximum production capabilities with high availability.ย 
  • Research and develop new ways to cut costs and improve production.ย 
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies andย objectives, including safety, personnel, insurance.ย 
  • May be called upon by the SMA Vice President to perform other duties.ย 
  • Maintain internal relationships with sales personnel, quality personnel, safety and environmental staff, managers of other operatingย unitsย and accounting personnel.ย 
  • Maintain external relationships with vendors, governmental agencies, outsideย salesmen, and customers.ย 

Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree in mining engineering, geological engineering or similar is preferred but notย required.ย 
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in managing operations and/or engineering as well asย significant experienceย in aggregate processing procedures and surface quarrying and underground mining.ย 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in personnel supervisory roleย 
  • Strong communicationย and leadership skills are necessary.ย 
  • Basic surveying and mapping skills areย required.ย 
  • Proven safety record and excellent complianceย inย MSHA safety standards.ย 
  • Working knowledge ofย AggQCย andย AggFlowย is a plus.ย 
  • Knowledge of profit and loss statements and an understanding of accounting principles.ย 
  • Excellent skills with Microsoft Office and the ability to rapidly learn different software applications.ย 
  • Ability to develop strong leadership at all levels.ย 
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.ย
