We are looking for a detail-oriented Buyer to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina in a contract-to-permanent capacity. This role supports purchasing, inventory control, and production planning activities that keep materials, parts, and equipment available when needed. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, experience working with supply chain systems, and the ability to coordinate effectively across suppliers, warehouse operations, and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
• Manage the full purchasing cycle for customer-driven orders and direct-ship material needs, ensuring timely and accurate order placement.
• Evaluate vendor performance by reviewing delivery results, fulfillment accuracy, and service reliability, and use findings to improve purchasing outcomes.
• Oversee stock levels for warehouse and field technician operations, including issuing required inventory for newly onboarded personnel.
• Review order activity each week to forecast assembly demand and align material availability several weeks ahead of production schedules.
• Identify high-risk or long-lead components and spare parts through system analysis, then take action to prevent shortages or delays.
• Maintain inventory planning parameters by classifying items and setting appropriate minimum and maximum stock levels based on usage patterns.
• Administer item records within the business system, including updates to part details, purchasing settings, and planning data.
• Perform large-scale pricing updates by validating spreadsheet data, correcting inconsistencies, and applying system changes accurately.
• Lead annual inventory count activities, reconcile variances, process inventory adjustments, and coordinate bin location corrections as needed.
• Support internal system forms, reporting needs, and cross-functional status meetings related to inventory and operational follow-up.• Experience in purchasing, procurement, or buyer functions within a manufacturing or supply chain environment.
• Working knowledge of inventory control practices, including cycle counts, audits, reconciliation, and inventory analysis.
• Proficiency with SAP and other ERP or business systems used for purchasing, planning, and item master maintenance.
• Ability to manage demand planning inputs, monitor material availability, and support production scheduling decisions.
• Strong Excel skills with experience handling data cleanup, pricing updates, and reporting tasks.
• Familiarity with supplier coordination, buying processes, and contract negotiation concepts.
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting principles and warehouse stock management.
• Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.
