Compensation & Benefits
  • Base pay: $60,000/year plus commission

Job Summary

The Customer Development Manager (FMS) is responsible for the management of assigned accounts in the Business Unit; the education and development of customer interest in additional Ryder services - including Full Service Lease, Programmed Maintenance, Lease Financing, Fleet Management Services and Dedicated Contract Carriage - through the Ryder Sales Process. This role sits at the intersection of relationship management and consultative sales, with real earning potential tied directly to your performance.

What You'll Do

Account Management & Growth

Maintain regular, consistent contact with your customer base. Develop a sales penetration plan, segment accounts by growth opportunity and risk, and present Ryder services and capabilities. Build relationships with all customer buying influences and develop a complete understanding of each customer's business, goals and objectives. Work with RIL to uncover opportunities for additional services and serve as the facilitator between the customer and Ryder departments or vendors.

Customer Retention & Satisfaction

Ensure contracted services are delivered and that customers feel it. Develop productive working relationships, conduct regularly scheduled customer reviews, monitor CSI results by account and maintain awareness of competitive alternatives. Contribute to smooth account transitions when needed.

Proactive Problem Solving

Stay ahead of issues through continuous dialogue with customers and Ryder staff. Supply customers with timely operational performance information and invest in understanding their business deeply.

Professional Development

Continuously improve your sales skills, industry knowledge and personal growth. Ryder is committed to developing its people - this role includes mentoring and knowledge-sharing with newer sales team members.
