Reporting to the VP of ERP Transformation, the Associate Vice President (AVP), ERP Change Management Transformation is responsible for leading the organizational change strategy, execution, and adoption for enterprise ERP initiatives. This role ensures that ERP implementations, upgrades, and optimization efforts deliver intended business outcomes through effective change leadership, stakeholder engagement, readiness, training enablement, and sustainment. This includes overall management with the change management process. 

The AVP partners closely with executive sponsors, ERP program leadership, IT, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Operations, Healthcare, and Communications to manage change impacts at scale, reduce risk, and drive lasting adoption of standardized processes and systems. ERP Change Strategy & Governance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Defines and leads the enterprise ERP change management strategy aligned with milestones and business priorities.
  • Establishes ERP change governance, decision rights, escalation paths, and change management success metrics.
  • Champions the integration of change management into ERP planning and delivery cadence.
  • Collaborates with ERP leadership on the sequencing and prioritization of initiatives to reduce change saturation and minimize operational disruption.

Executive Sponsorship & Stakeholder Leadership

  • Serves as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors and senior leaders on ERP change risks, readiness, and leadership actions.
  • Advises leaders on effective change management related sponsorship behaviors including visible advocacy, decision clarity, and institutional mission and vision connections.
  • Aligns cross functional leadership on ERP driven changes to roles, policies, controls, and operating models.

Impact, Readiness & Adoption

  • Adheres to readiness criteria and go/no go thresholds for major ERP milestones.
  • Leads adoption strategies to support standardized ERP processes and minimize workarounds.
  • Ensures sustainment and stabilization plans are in place post go live.

Communications & Training Enablement

  • Partners with Communications to develop and govern ERP change messaging, narratives, and engagement strategies.
  • Partners with HR/Learning teams to design and deliver role based ERP training, job aids, and performance support.
  • Ensures training aligns to real world process scenarios and deployment waves.
  • Supports peer experts and hyper-care models during go live and stabilization.

Resistance Management & Risk Mitigation

  • Identifies resistance drivers related to ERP standardization, AI technology, process change, role redesign, or control impacts.
  • Develops targeted interventions to address adoption risks and business continuity concerns.
  • Partners with teams to reduce reliance on legacy systems, informal processes, and manual workarounds.

Change Capability & Team Leadership

  • Leads and develops an ERP Change Management Center of Excellence (COE) or equivalent capability.
  • Manages and mentors change leads, communications team, instructional designers, and trainers.
  • Establishes ERP change standards, templates, playbooks, and quality controls.
  • Builds change capability across functional and program teams.

Measurement & Benefits Realization

  • Defines adoption, readiness, and proficiency metrics tied to ERP business outcomes.
  • Develops executive reporting on change performance and risks.
  • Conducts pre, during, and post implementation reviews and drive continuous improvement.

Change Management External Partners

  • Ensures external partners align with internal change standards and outcomes.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of experience with a focus on training and enterprise change management or large scale transformation initiatives which includes senior leadership and people management experience.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading change for ERP platforms such as Workday, SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Proven ability to influence and advise executives and senior leaders.
  • Experience managing change across Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and Operations.
  • Preferred Qualifications include experience with multi wave or phased ERP deployments in a regulated or highly controlled environment and partnering with large systems integrators.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs.  Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
