Role Overview

We are seeking a Digital Asset Management (DAM) Specialist to serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for an enterprise DAM platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Canto DAM, managing large-scale digital asset libraries, and developing effective taxonomy, metadata, governance, and access-control strategies.

This role will focus on ensuring the DAM platform serves as a centralized source of truth for digital, marketing, creative, and campaign assets while driving adoption, data quality, and efficient asset management across distributed teams.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the Canto DAM platform, including platform configuration, global settings, user management, permissions, and access controls.

  • Manage and optimize large-scale digital asset libraries, including 50,000+ assets.

  • Develop and maintain asset taxonomy, metadata standards, tagging structures, controlled vocabularies, and file-naming conventions.

  • Configure and manage Canto portals, collections, user groups, and access workflows.

  • Manage secure external access for partners, agencies, and other authorized stakeholders.

  • Oversee the complete asset lifecycle, including intake, versioning, quality control, metadata enforcement, digital rights management, and archiving.

  • Maintain centralized brand resources, including brand guidelines, creative templates, campaign toolkits, logos, photography, video, and design assets.

  • Conduct regular audits and cleanup initiatives to remove duplicate, outdated, or improperly tagged assets.

  • Develop self-service documentation, onboarding materials, user guides, and training resources.

  • Drive platform adoption and establish DAM best practices across creative, marketing, brand, and business teams.

  • Collaborate with creative and cross-functional teams to improve asset organization, accessibility, and governance.

  • Coordinate with DAM vendors and technical support teams on platform issues, enhancements, and roadmap initiatives.

  • Monitor platform usage and identify opportunities to improve searchability, usability, governance, and overall system effectiveness.

Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience administering enterprise-scale Digital Asset Management (DAM) platforms.

  • Hands-on experience administering Canto DAM is required.

  • Proven experience managing Canto portals, collections, user groups, permissions, and external access.

  • Strong knowledge of taxonomy development, metadata strategies, controlled vocabularies, tagging, and search optimization.

  • Experience managing large digital asset libraries in creative, marketing, branding, or enterprise environments.

  • Understanding of digital rights management, asset licensing, version control, and file-format standards for photography, video, and design assets.

  • Experience developing documentation, training materials, onboarding resources, and user enablement programs.

  • Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Ability to work effectively with distributed and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, Adobe Experience Manager (AEM), or similar creative ecosystem platforms.

  • Experience supporting enterprise brand management or marketing technology environments.

  • Knowledge of DAM governance, content lifecycle management, and digital asset compliance.

  • Experience leading DAM migration, cleanup, implementation, or optimization initiatives.
