Job description

Position Overview:
The Laboratory Supervisor is responsible for the testing and production of concentrates and formulated products and all aspects of the tracking and quality control management. The Supervisor also ensures the safe, accurate and timely testing and production of concentrates and formulated products, as well as supervising the work of several lab technicians. The Lab Supervisor coordinates with production schedules and Cure/Vault regarding product inventory and availability, and journals, monitors and tracks all observations in the company's software seed to sale tracking system.
Major Areas of Responsibility include:
  • Following Policies & Procedures for the daily operations and fully comply with state medical marijuana regulations
  • Maintaining testing and formulating operations by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational policies and procedures
  • Performing QA/QC through analytical testing for quality, consistency and efficacy
  • Working closely with production team on all elements of the testing and formulating process
  • Designing extraction trials and experiments to optimize extraction purity and efficiency
  • Developing new extraction and purification techniques, while keeping abreast of developments in the industry
  • Mastering various techniques for marijuana extraction and infusion, including butane extraction
  • Developing expertise in testing and formulating methods as well as the purification, separation and isolation of various compounds of cannabis
  • Responsible for inventory, recordkeeping and quality of product at all times, maintaining inventory via seed to sale tracking
  • Responsible for coordinating Waste Disposal of extraction waste and product return waste
  • Facilitating and coordinating the operational requirements between in the production workflow
  • Responsible for accurately weighing and recording all product weights
  • Working in a timely manner and strives to improve quality and maintaining accuracy
  • Making sure that all concentrates are packaged, counted, sorted and labeled accurately
  • Managing day to day issues as they arise, requesting assistance as needed
  • Performing all other tasks and duties as assigned

Skills and Qualifications:
  • All applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or similar field preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in related position with an emphasis in an operations production/manufacturing environment
  • Experience must include hands-on responsibility for the full scope production activities, both operations and analysis
  • Experience with analytical testing required and HPLC- specific experience preferred
  • Experience in various cannabis testing or formulation methods preferred
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to interact professionally at all times, leading by example
  • Manage a controlled workflow in a fast-paced environment
  • Passionate about the importance of medical marijuana
  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment
  • Experience in cannabis oil extraction, including decarboxylation, supercritical CO2 extraction, winterization, distillation, and separation, including related equipment maintenance experience.

  • Must pass all required background checks
