Got a sweet tooth and a passion for people? Our most delightful department - The Candy Store - Uncle Giuseppe's Marketplace in Morris Plains, NJ is looking for a vibrant and customer-focused Candy Lead to take the reins! As the Candy Lead, you'll be the go-to person for all things sweet and satisfying. You'll guide a team of enthusiastic associates and ensure every customer walks away with a smile (and maybe a bag of their favorite treats!). If you're upbeat, approachable, and love creating magical shopping experiences, this could be your perfect role.

Help customers find the perfect sweet selections and answer their questions with confidence and care
Keep the department looking fresh, fun, and fully stocked
Build strong relationships with customers, clients, and vendors alike
We're looking for someone who's outgoing, dependable, and ready to sprinkle a little joy into every shift. If you've got leadership skills and a love for sweets, we'd love to meet you!
Responsibilities
  • Will assist all candy store customers, greeting them in a friendly and approachable manner
  • Will be responsible for interviewing, hiring and training staff within our Candy Department
  • Will be responsible for operating a register, stocking product, creating orders for pickup
  • Will manage the decorating functions for our Candy Store for it to be appealing to our customers
  • Responsible for placing orders, inventory control, machine cleanliness, department sanitation and overall appearance of Candy Department
  • Other duties and functions as assigned

Requirements
  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a minimum of 1 years of experience working in customer service for the food industry. Candy Store experience preferred.
  • Listen well and communicate in a professional and friendly manner
  • Focus on customer satisfaction
  • Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and products
  • Maintain a clean work environment

Must be able to speak, read and understand the English language
  • Keep supplies replenished to minimize downtime
  • Build a great rapport with team members and lead by example

Working Conditions
  • Most of the time is spent moving about continuously on hard surfaces. There may be a need to frequently position oneself to examine and/or scan merchandise, including bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
  • May require lifting objects up to 30 pounds. May require lifting and moving heavy and/or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance.
  • Usually in a comfortable indoor environment surrounded by moving machinery and/or loud equipment that may require shouting in order to be heard. There could be exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and/or coolers.
  • There may be occasional exposure to cleaning agents, sharp objects/industrial equipment necessary to perform job duties and functions.
