Job description

Position Overview

BayCare's innovative High Risk Cancer Clinic is seeking an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) to play a key role in identifying individuals at increased risk for hereditary and familial cancers and helping them navigate personalized prevention and surveillance plans.

As part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive risk assessment, counseling, education, and ongoing follow-up care for high-risk patients. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the region's only comprehensive high-risk cancer programs focused on early detection and cancer prevention. BayCare's program uses advanced risk assessment technology to identify patients at elevated risk for multiple cancer types and develop tailored screening and prevention strategies.

Position Overview

  • Conduct comprehensive cancer risk assessments and evaluate personal and family history.
  • Provide genetic risk counseling and patient education.
  • Interpret and communicate genetic testing results.
  • Develop individualized surveillance, screening, prevention, and risk-reduction plans.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, genetic counselors, radiology, oncology, breast health, and other specialty teams.
  • Establish meaningful long-term relationships through ongoing patient follow-up and support.
  • Serve as a patient advocate while promoting cancer prevention and early detection.
Qualifications
  • State licensure as an Advanced Practice Provider in Florida.
  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with a focus in relevant specialty areas.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, counseling, and patient education abilities.
  • Ability to practice with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating across multiple specialties.
  • Experience in oncology, breast health, genetics, women's health, or cancer survivorship preferred.
