Job description

Credit Union 1 is seeking a Junior Graphic Designer that will support the execution of visual communication across Credit Union 1’s marketing and internal initiatives. This role is responsible for creating high-quality design assets that align with established brand standards and contribute to a consistent and engaging member and employee experience. The Junior Graphic Designer works closely with the marketing team and cross-functional partners to bring campaigns and communications to life across multiple channels, including, but not limited to, digital, swag, print and in-branch materials.

This position requires a foundational understanding of graphic design principles, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines. The Junior Graphic Designer operates with guidance and direction, while continuing to build skills in creative strategy, production and brand execution.

This position is based out of our Abbott Headquarters' (1941 Abbott Rd.). This position is open to a Hybrid work schedule with the availability to work on-site, weekly.

Pay Range: $26.69 - $40.96

In line with our salary administration policy, starting base salaries for new hires typically fall in-between the minimum and midpoint of the designated pay range.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Supports the design and production of marketing materials across multiple channels including digital, print, email, web, swag and in-branch signage.
  • Applies established brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all creative assets and communications.
  • Collaborates with marketing team members and internal stakeholders to execute creative concepts that align with campaign goals and business objectives.
  • Assists in the development of promotional materials including advertisements, social media graphics, email campaigns, brochures and internal communications.
  • Prepares and formats files for print and digital distribution, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications and deadlines.
  • Supports updates and maintenance of website content and design elements, ensuring accuracy, usability and alignment with brand standards.
  • Assists with digital marketing efforts including ad creative development, campaign asset preparation and basic performance tracking.
  • Coordinates with external vendors such as printers and media partners to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
  • Supports the organization and maintenance of marketing assets, templates and design files across shared platforms.
  • Assists with distribution of marketing materials including branch signage, promotional materials and campaign assets.
  • Maintains a strong attention to detail by reviewing and proofreading design work to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Manages multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.
  • Supports concept development by contributing creative ideas and design solutions for campaigns and brand initiatives.
  • Seeks opportunities to grow design, marketing and brand strategy knowledge through feedback, collaboration and ongoing learning.
  • Stays up to date on design trends, tools, and best practices to continuously improve creative output.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Marketing or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–2 years of experience in graphic design or related field (internships or freelance work acceptable).
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and basic digital tools.
  • Foundational understanding of typography, color theory, layout and visual hierarchy.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to proofread and ensure accuracy in all deliverables.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction, receive feedback and apply it to improve work.
  • Responsible for abiding and complying with the policy for compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money laundering laws and regulations (BSA/AML) and the policy for compliance with office of foreign assets control laws and regulations (OFAC).
