Job Summary:

The CalWORKs Outpatient Therapist provides mental health services in the clinic, in the community and in the clients' homes with the goal of removing mental health barriers to employment. Services include, but may not be limited to: assessment, rehabilitation, linkage, crisis, individual, collateral and group therapy. The CalWORKs Outpatient Therapist collaborates as a member of an integrated treatment team and supports fidelity to the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Evidence-Based Practice, as well as the DMH CalWORKs Service Exhibit. The CalWORKs Outpatient Therapist documents all services according to DMH and Penny Lane guidelines, including the completion of GAIN documentation in accordance with DMH and DPSS requirements.

The CalWORKs Outpatient Therapist possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills when working with clients, outside agencies, members of the community, and co-workers. When in the community (i.e. a client's home, school) the CalWORKs Outpatient Therapist will employ a calm demeanor and good ethical and professional boundaries. Excellent clinical skills are used to assess the appropriate level of care for clients and stabilize clients in crisis. Teaming, collaborating and coordination of care with all Penny Lane staff, DCFS, DMH, and other outside agencies (Gain, Department of Rehabilitation) is crucial. This position requires flexibility, excellent time management skills and the ability to manage responsibilities efficiently with little supervision.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a Master's Degree in related field.
  • Registered unlicensed Master's level associates - Must be registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) or, Licensed LMFT or LCSW by the BBS or Licensed Psychologist by the Board Of Psychology.
  • Bilingual Spanish Preferred (verbal and written).
  • Valid California driver's license; current automobile insurance; have and maintain a clean driving record acceptable to the organization's insurance company; have immediate access to his or her vehicle during work hours.

Position Location: Lancaster, CA

Salary Range: $77,726 - $98,616 per year

Additional $5,000 per year bilingual Spanish differential.

$5,000 SIGN ON BONUS! (Issued in two installments: $2,500 upon date of hire and $2,500 upon successfully completing the six month introductory period).

Flexible schedules are available upon successful completion of introductory period.

Eligible employees may request up to 5 days of Paid Time Off to study for their licensure.
