FLSA Status: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
Hours per week: 12 hours, Part-time

Job Summary:
This position provides a visual security presence and monitors physical security and safety of students, employees, visitors and facilities. Calvary Chapel must be your home church with regular attendance.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain an alert, visible presence inside and outside the church/school buildings to detect potential threats or hazardous conditions and execute the campus Emergency Action Plan and Procedures as necessary (1Corinthians 14:40)
• Provide basic first aid according to the officer’s level of training
• Monitor and respond to potential threats, coordinate with law enforcement and/or emergency medical services, and manage incident response as identified in SOPs and Florida Statute (Psalm 82:4)
• Coordinate with other ministries to ensure Church buildings and grounds are protected from unauthorized visitors (Acts 20:28)
• Document relevant observations/actions on Incident Reports and Intelligent Reports as dictated by the Standard Operating Procedure
• Coordinate and communicate with other campus staff including campus pastor, administrative staff and ministry leaders, and attend required staff meetings
• Provide general safety support, including first aid, traffic control, car loop, building protection, and assistance to attendees

• Support church operations by attending meetings, traveling to campuses, working flexible hours (including evenings, weekends and holidays) as needed
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor (Colossians 3:23)
Job Skills and Competencies:
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations to include large crowds, adapt to change and exercise discernment (2 Corinthians 9:8)
• 21 years of age or older with high school diploma or GED
• Valid Class E driver’s license
• Prior law enforcement or military service preferred. Any combination of education and experience may be considered
• Possess and demonstrate the physical and mental capacity to respond to a variety of incidents. Physical capacity may involve the need to stand and walk up to 8 hours per shift, ascend/descend stairs and navigate various terrain, run , implement de-escalation techniques when appropriate or engage in physical confrontation for the safety of the officer or others
• Exceptional observation and communications skills to include both written and verbal (1 Peter 4:10)
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word
• Desire to protect people while keeping Christ as the center (Ephesians 4:3)
• Capable of holding a state D and G license, as well as capability of maintaining qualification in defensive equipment, CPR and First Aid
• Thorough understanding and adherence to Florida Administrative Code chapter 5N-1 and Florida Statute 493
