Call Center Specialist

The 365-bed facility is one of the largest free-standing psychiatric hospitals in the United States. We are located on a serene 37-acre campus in northeast Shelby County, serving as the setting for the treatment for children, adolescents, young adults, adults and seniors. Lakeside's comprehensive programs treat disorders such as bipolar disorder, psychological trauma, depression and anxiety, mental illness and addictive disease disorders such as alcoholism, drug addiction and substance abuse.

The Call Center Specialist works as a member of the Admissions Department and represents Lakeside Behavioral Health System and its programs to all those inquiring for services. The Call Center Specialist serves as a liaison between Lakeside Behavioral Health System and referral sources, patients and families. The primary function of the Call Center Specialist is to facilitate referrals between referring mobile crisis agencies, hospitals and other referral sources in support of the call center operations. The Call Center Specialist prioritizes referrals made to Lakeside Behavioral Health System and provides exceptional customer service to all partnering agencies. Thorough and accurate documentation of calls and other admissions related paperwork is a critical component of the job. This opportunity provides:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work or Social Services field.
  • Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
