Job description

Essential Duties

Essential duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Effective deployment of KIMS and quality standardization in support of overall OpEx objectives across the Insulation sites.
  2. Implement, maintain and audit overall KIMS .
  3. Guide and coordinate the creation and implementation of KINA’s Health, Safety, and Planet Passionate (Environmental) programs
  4. Provide coaching and support to the Management Team, Plant Management Teams, and Line Managers to achieve KINA’s Health, Safety, and Planet Passionate objectives.
  5. Track and report performance metrics to enhance decision-making regarding Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) and to embed HSE into business strategies.
  6. Ensure compliance with all company principles, policies, and requirements related to Health, Safety, and Planet Passionate goals.
  7. Maintain adherence to HSE-related legal and other requirements and establish a local network of internal and external contacts, including authorities and industry groups.
  8. Ensure compliance to all standards, certifications and specifications.
  9. Actively lead and support compliance while working closely with all departments.
  10. Ensure all stakeholders have clear line of sight to quality vision and objectives.
  11. Continuously monitor and drive completion of action plan to reduce cost of quality on each site.
  12. Mentor and assist quality teams on sites to ensure effectiveness of quality function.
  13. Push quality upstream and develop culture of internal customer.
  14. Ensure key quality KPI’s QC failure, manufacturing defect, waste, customer complaints are reported, analysed and improved upon by operation teams.
  15. Customer complaints investigation, analysis, corrective action and resolution. Act as voice of customer internally.
  16. Quality Standards – Ensure product drawing are current with tolerances and quality attributes clearly defined documented and available to the lines for carrying out checks.
  17. Arrange and minute frequent cross functional quality review meetings.
  18. New Products – Support new product development and launch including test plan for validating product prior to shipment. Testing should include validate fit and function for end use in addition to required 3rd party approvals.
  19. Non confirming material and product – Management of reject materials. Segregation, disposition and preparation of vendor claims, supporting waste recovery plans.
  20. Measurement Systems – support robust measurement tools are made available to QC inspection points. Ensure test methods and equipment are repeatable (R&R).
  21. Calibration – Calibration program for measurement equipment.
  22. Record and communicate on Quality Metrics to both Management and Shop floor.
  23. Support the implementation of error proofing of equipment and processes throughout plant.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors’ degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Science or Quality Lean Six Sigma or other WCM qualification

Must have:

  • Minimum 3 years successful people management experience in fast paced manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering significant efficiency, quality improvements.
  • Experience in deployment of World Class Manufacturing systems, Lean Six Sigma.
  • Understanding of MRP systems, BOM control, labour routing and product costing.
  • Manufacturing Variance Analysis.

Must be able to:

  • Proven ability to deliver change and drive continuous improvement on own initiative.
  • High energy, self-starter with ability to motivate workforce & well developed people management skills.
  • Proven team building & mentoring ability.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills at all levels inside and outside organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages, competent at concisely formatting reports, presentations at Management, Shop floor and Customer levels
  • Travel 50-60% of the time

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Must be able to communicate orally and written in English.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures by using advanced math skills, applicable to and consistent with an business degree.

Reasoning Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
