Fort Point HenHouse- Quality Manager
Location: Santa Rosa
Role Title: Quality Technician
Pay: $60k-80k/yr (Overtime Exempt)
Hours: Full Time (40 hours/week)
This is an opportunity to join a growing team of skilled, experienced brewing professionals. As a Quality Manager, you will lead and oversee all aspects of quality assurance and quality control across the brewery. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving product quality, food safety systems, and laboratory operations, while partnering cross-functionally with brewing, packaging, and operations teams.
The Quality Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of consistency, safety, and sensory excellence.
Ideal candidates will bring strong technical expertise in beverage quality, proven leadership experience, and a passion for building scalable quality systems in a production environment.

Primary Skills (Required)
  • 3+ years of laboratory experience within the beer, wine, or beverage manufacturing industry
  • Deep knowledge of microbiological testing, including method development and troubleshooting
  • Strong understanding of beverage spoilage organisms and contamination prevention strategies
  • Experience performing routine quality control analyses (e.g., pH, DO, CO₂, gravity, cell counts) with a high degree of accuracy and consistency
  • Strong understanding of GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and lab safety protocols
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate results clearly to production and operations teams to support timely decision-making
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate records

Shifts
  • Saturday thru Wednesday
  • 5 x 8 hours shifts per week
  • Availability to work days, nights and swing shifts required

Scope of Responsibilities
  • Laboratory Operations
    • Oversee all laboratory operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and consistency
    • Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and validation of lab equipment
    • Manage inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and materials
    • Review and validate microbiological and analytical data
    • Implement new testing methodologies and improve existing protocols
  • Quality Assurance
    • Ensure compliance with policies outlined in the Quality Manual, GMP policy, MSS, and Hazard communication Plan
    • Daily gravity, pH, and cell counts of fermenting beer
    • Microbiological Analysis of in process and finished product
      • Preparing media
      • Plating
      • Recording results
    • Interpretation of micro results through selective media and gram stain
    • Oversee environmental monitoring and sanitation verification programs
    • Density/viability and data management of yeast
    • Manage and maintain yeast schedule
    • Preparation and data management of controlled tastings, D-force analysis, general sensory analysis and go/no go analysis.
  • Quality Control
    • Oversee review and analysis of all Quality Control Point data
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of quality metrics to leadership
    • Utilize data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
    • Investigate out-of-spec results and implement corrective actions
    • Manage sample submission and relationships with external laboratories
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain and promote a positive work environment with a focus on customer service based problem solving
