Calibrate Physician information

What is a Calibrate Physician?

A Calibrate Physician is a licensed medical doctor who works with Calibrate, a telehealth company specializing in metabolic health and weight loss. These physicians evaluate patients, prescribe medication if appropriate, and provide ongoing medical oversight as part of Calibrate's science-backed weight loss program. They collaborate with health coaches and use virtual visits to monitor progress, adjust treatment plans, and ensure patient safety. Calibrate Physicians are board-certified and have experience in obesity medicine or related fields.

How does a Calibrate Physician typically collaborate with health coaches and other team members to support patient outcomes?

Calibrate Physicians work closely with health coaches, registered dietitians, and care coordinators to provide a holistic, evidence-based approach to metabolic health. Physicians focus on medical evaluations, prescribing GLP-1 medications, and monitoring patient progress, while health coaches support behavioral changes and accountability. Regular team meetings and digital communication tools enable seamless collaboration, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive, personalized care and timely support throughout their journey.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Calibrate Physician, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Calibrate Physician, you need an MD or DO degree, board certification (commonly in internal or family medicine), and a strong background in obesity medicine or metabolic health. Familiarity with telemedicine platforms, electronic medical records (EMRs), and evidence-based weight management protocols is typically required. Excellent communication, motivational interviewing, and a patient-centered approach are crucial soft skills for fostering trust and guiding behavioral change. These competencies are important because they enable physicians to deliver effective, personalized care in a virtual setting, supporting patients' long-term health outcomes.
