Position Title:  Staff Scientist (part time)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process human cardiac tissue specimens. 
  • Perform bottom-up proteomic analysis of tissue and amyloid fibrils. 
  • Interpret proteomic data to identify disease-relevant protein targets. 
  • Conduct tissue clearing and histological staining. 
  • Acquire and reconstruct three-dimensional images of cardiac microanatomy. 
  • Synthesize findings, document methods, and communicate results. 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ph.D. in an appropriate scientific discipline required.  Minimum of 2 years postdoctoral experience. 

ADDITIOANAL INFORMATION:

This is a part time position 20 hours per week. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position works in an office environment. Further details of the physical requirements of established essential functions for this position will be addressed/discussed during the interview process.

 Location: La Jolla, California 

 Compensation: The expected hiring range for this position is $78,000 to $90,272 per year, commensurate with experience. Consideration will be given to experience that exceeds the listed requirements.
