The energy of a newsroom, the pace of a trading floor, the momentum of breakthrough technology-Bloomberg runs on all three. We work fast and with purpose, without ever compromising on the quality and accuracy that define us. That drive to build, improve, and reinvent is core to who we are. Our culture is open and collaborative, and our spaces are designed to spark connection. We bring out the best in one another, and through our volunteer efforts, we stay connected to the communities around us.
You can build something extraordinary here-work you wouldn't get to do anywhere else. What you make of it is up to you.
What's the role?
Bloomberg's Engineering Sourcing team is dedicated to identifying and engaging exceptional technical talent-software engineers, engineering managers, data professionals, and other highly specialized roles. As an essential part of our broader talent acquisition strategy, you'll partner closely with recruiters, engineering leaders, and HR to build strong, data-driven pipelines that meet both immediate and long-term hiring needs.
This role is perfect for a proactive sourcer who loves digging deep, uncovering hard-to-find talent, building meaningful connections, and delivering a world-class candidate experience. You'll become a trusted partner to our engineering organization by understanding their technical landscape, staying plugged into industry trends, and providing market expertise that influences strategic hiring decisions.
We'll Trust You To:
Talent Identification & Engagement
  • Utilize specialized sourcing techniques to identify and engage high-caliber UX, UI, and Product Design talent
  • Find and engage top engineering talent-both passive and active-through LinkedIn, technical communities, GitHub/Stack Overflow, referrals, events, meetups, and other creative sourcing strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines of diverse candidates for high-priority, niche, and hard-to-fill technical roles.

Stakeholder Partnership
  • Work closely with recruiters, engineering managers, and technical leaders to understand role requirements, team dynamics, and long-term workforce plans.
  • Deliver actionable insights using market intelligence, talent mapping, competitive analysis, and data trends.
  • Ensure a high-touch, tailored candidate experience aligned with Bloomberg's values.

Pipeline Management
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with prospective engineering candidates, keeping them informed about opportunities across multiple teams.
  • Keep accurate, detailed records of sourcing activity and candidate interactions within the ATS/CRM.

Process Optimization
  • Recommend and adopt innovative sourcing tools, channels, and techniques to improve efficiency and impact.
  • Stay current with industry shifts, emerging technologies, and sourcing best practices-especially in the technical recruiting space.

You'll Need To Have:
  • 4+ years of experience in sourcing or recruitment (agency or in-house), with hands-on expertise in Boolean search, LinkedIn Recruiter, and advanced search methodologies.
  • Proven track record sourcing for technical and engineering roles, or a blended background in both sourcing and full-cycle recruiting.
  • Experience sourcing across multiple functions and levels, including highly specialized technical roles.
  • Strong proficiency with ATS/CRM platforms (ideally Avature), LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean/X-ray search, and other sourcing tools.
  • Deep understanding of social platforms, online communities, and talent research strategies.
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to build strong, trust-based relationships.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret data and influence strategy through insights.
  • High initiative, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
