Our first restaurant Cafe China (Szechuan) is located at 13 E 37th St (between 5th Ave and Madison, Midtown Manhattan).
The new China Blue (Shanghainese Cuisine) is located at 135 WATTS ST (between Washington and Greenwich in Tribeca, lower Manhattan). China Blue and Cafe China are unlike any other Chinese restaurants in NYC. We are in pursuit of a new authentic vibrant Chinese dining experience. Our restaurant is inspired by 1930's Shanghai and our food is authentic. We want to seamlessly deliver our guests the best food, best service and experience available. In the 2 years since Cafe China opened, it has retained one Michelin star and has been awarded two stars from the NY Times, building a strong following. Job Description

  • Manager
  • Host/ Receptionist/ Cashier (MANDARIN CHINESE / ENGLISH BILINGUAL STRONGLY PREFERRED)
  • Bartender (high volume, no amateurs)
  • Server (MANDARIN CHINESE/ ENGLISH BILINGUAL REQUIRED)

To be considered for MANAGER, you must have the following qualifications:
  • Speak fluent Mandarin Chinese and English
  • Have at least 2 years of experience working in high-volume, high end restaurants
  • Be upbeat, have a deep understanding of NYC's hospitality industry
  • Demonstrate superb communication abilities
  • Should have adequate knowledge of wine, beer, some spirits

For the MANAGER position, your responsibilities would include but not be limited to:
  • Being an ambassador of the restaurant, communicating our concept and brand to all interested guests and all stakeholders
  • Maintaining a strong floor presence during service to ensure optimal customer service
  • Managing city inspections (DOH, FDNY, etc.)
  • Maintaining and building guest relationships
  • Private party planning
  • Inventory management and procurement
  • Managing FOH (motivating, training, scheduling, supervising, hiring)
  • Facility management to ensure a clean and safe working environment
(You are required to have DOH certification within two months if you don't already have.)
For HOST, you must:
  • Have an immaculate sense of style
  • Speak solid English (Mandarin English bilingual required)
  • Have experience in being a restaurant host/cashier, be very organized
  • Demonstrate ability to work under stress, high volume
  • Be service oriented, personable, efficient with great communication skills

For SERVER, you must:
  • Be upbeat, efficient, precise, personable
  • Command sound knowledge of wine, beer, some spirits
  • Have at least 2 years working in high-volume restaurants
  • Possess great communication skills
  • Possess great networking skills to help build guest relations and new business
  • *Be bilingual (Mandarin Chinese/ English preferred)

For BARTENDER, you must:
  • Be upbeat, efficient, precise, organized, personable, have a presence behind the bar, have an in depth knowledge of: wine, beer, spirits and mixology
  • Have at least 2 years bartending in high-volume restaurants
  • Possess great communication skills
  • Possess great networking skills to help build guest relations and new business
  • (*Mandarin Chinese fluency is a plus but not a requirement)
