Job description

Join our team at Lower Tahquamenon Café and Gift shop! We are seeking a friendly, motivated, and dependable Retail/Café Associate to help create a welcoming experience for our customers. This position combines customer service, café support, and retail sales in a fun, fast-paced environment. If you enjoy working with people, staying active throughout the day, and being part of a positive team in one of Michigan’s most beautiful destinations, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
  • Greet customers and provide friendly customer service
  • Achieve and maintain product knowledge to assist customers
  • Guide and direct customers to appropriate products of interest and answer related inquiries
  • Prepare cafe food items in accordance to company and food safety standards
  • Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point of sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards and making change
  • Restock and maintain displays and inventory in cafe and retail spaces
  • Participate in closing, opening procedures
  • Participate in daily cleaning/maintenance duties
Position Requirements:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills to interact positively with others
  • Ability to multi-task and perform well under pressure
  • Display energy and enthusiasm when working with customers and fellow Associates
  • Dependable to always be on time and on schedule
  • Able to lift frequently up to 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. Position also involves frequent bending, twisting, lifting and squatting and up to 8 hours per day on feet in a fast paced environment.

Experience Required:
Experience: Demonstrated ability to handle general math
Minimum 1 year retail sales experience preferred
Minimum 1 year experience with POS systems preferred
