Description

This company is seeking candidates with prior cable or fiber installation experience to join their Waterloo-based travel technician team as soon as possible. Candidates must be open to traveling and staying overnight for projects outside the local area. Lodging will be provided, and technicians will receive mileage reimbursement along with a per diem for meals while traveling.

This is a contract-to-hire opportunity for a dependable, hardworking individual eager to learn and grow within the industry. The role is ideal for an entry-level Installer (Technician I) responsible for tasks such as pulling cable, following direction from leads, assisting with installation of fire alarms and speakers, adhering to PPE requirements, and maintaining a clean job site. Strong performance in this role can lead to a full-time offer.

Technicians will work as part of an installation team and should be comfortable using ladders and lifts when required. While not required, prior experience in a lead or foreman role is considered a plus.

Qualified candidates will ideally have experience in cable pulling, fiber splicing, and mounting enclosures. The position involves installing communications hardware—including fiber optic cabling and related devices—while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and professionalism.
