Position: Cabling Technician (Lead, Foreman, and Supervisor levels are being hired).
Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (Travel required) 
Duration: 7-Month Contract-to-Hire
Pay Range:
• $25/hr for entry-level candidates
• Up to $30/hr for technicians with cabling experience

• Up to ~$33/hr for Foreman

• Up to ~$37/hr for Supervisors


Schedule:
• On-site
• Likely Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM
• Overtime available on Fridays & Saturdays

Position Overview

Insight Global is hiring multiple Cabling Technicians on behalf of MP NexLevel to support large‐scale infrastructure and data center projects in the Cheyenne area. These roles are open to candidates with varying levels of experience and may involve outside plant and inside plant cable pulling (OSP/ISP), structured/network cabling, or security and camera cabling, depending on project needs. 

Technicians will support installation efforts both outdoors and indoors, working hands‐on with cabling systems and infrastructure equipment in a fast‐paced, team‐oriented environment. If working within security, candidates will be working directly with CCTV cameras and door access panels as well. 

This is a travel role. The current project is expected to run in Cheyenne through April 2027, with potential ongoing work at that site. If the project ends earlier, technicians will be eligible to poten brought on full time and deployed to the next project location. Per diem is included, with a typical 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation.


For Foreman/Supervisors:

  • Leadership experience (Foreman level or above within data center or structured cabling environments)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Experience using Bluebeam for plan review, markups, and redlines
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, crews, and customer communication in a fast-paced environment
  • Solid understanding of ISP (Inside Plant) installation including rack and stack, structured cabling, fiber, and pathway systems
  • Knowledge of fiber terminations, testing, and troubleshooting (OTDR, light levels, etc.)
