Position: You will play a key role in the assembly, fabrication, repair, and testing of electrical harnesses and electromechanical assemblies used in prototype systems and test support equipment. This hands-on position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to interpret technical documentation, and a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, fabricate, and repair electrical and electromechanical assemblies for prototype systems and test support equipment.
  • Build, route, terminate, and inspect custom cable and wire harnesses in accordance with engineering drawings and industry standards.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform rework on cable harnesses and electrical assemblies to ensure quality and functionality.
  • Review vendor-supplied cable and harness drawings to verify manufacturability, proper design, and tooling requirements.
  • Support testing and integration activities by assembling and maintaining prototype hardware and support equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while adhering to quality and manufacturing procedures.


Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification, associate degree, or vocational training in electronics, manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience assembling cable harnesses, electrical assemblies, or electromechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, work instructions, and bills of materials.
  • Proficiency using hand tools, wire strippers, crimpers, soldering equipment, and other assembly tools.
  • Experience routing, terminating, labeling, and inspecting wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform rework on electrical assemblies and cable harnesses.
  • Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, and/or J-STD-001 workmanship standards; certification is preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain any required U.S. Government security clearances.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen due to the nature of the work and applicable government contract requirements.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, military, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Cable harness design experience especially with military connectors.
  • Experience with DIT-MCO tooling or processes.
  • Current IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, or J-STD-001 certification.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO 9001 quality management environment.


Physical Requirements:

  • Stationary Position: Must be able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods—typically up to 75% to 80% of the workday.
  • Movement: Frequently required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery (copiers, printers), and shared workspaces.
  • Fine Motor Skills & Coordination: Consistently operates a computer, keyboard, mouse, and other office productivity machinery (such as a calculator or scanner).
  • Lifting & Moving: Frequently positions, moves, or lifts office supplies, files, or packages weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Critical Thinking & Analysis: Ability to analyze complex technical information and apply critical thinking to solve engineering and operational challenges and ability to maintain focus and accuracy while performing tasks that require a high degree of precision and attention to detail
