Cable Installation Technician – Senior

Professional Solutions Delivered, LLC (ProSoDel) is a total solutions provider for government and commercial customers in the areas of Program Management, Logistics, Organizational Change Management, Communications, Training, and Information Technology (IT) Support Services. We are currently seeking a on-site Cable Installation Technician -Senior in Bremerton, Washington to join our team of professionals in support of the U.S. Navy to complete on-site RFID installation at the naval shipyard.


Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Execute end-to-end structured cabling for copper (Cat6/6A) and fiber optic systems (Single-mode/Multi-mode).
  • Build out telecommunications rooms, including the precision installation of racks, cabinets, cable trays, and MDF/IDF components.
  • Direct pathway construction, planning and installing J-hooks, conduit, and sleeve penetrations to support cable infrastructure.
  • Conduct testing and cable certifications using Fluke (or similar) testers to verify link performance and Tier 1/Tier 2 fiber certification.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cable connectivity issues.
  • Ability to complete the tasks assigned in a timely manner.
  • Ability to understand basic wiring diagrams and installation instruction.
  • Use proper care on all company assets to avoid breakage, misuse, theft, etc.
  • Complete and submit basic paperwork (timecards, material forms, etc.) according to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, professional appearance, wearing the company uniform during all project related duties unless specifically directed otherwise by a superior.
  • Help load and unload daily supplies and equipment on to andoff ofcompany vehicles.
  • Coordinate with Project Manager,supervise, assign tasks, and review work for quality and safety.
  • Performs related work as assigned.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but remains tentative until contract award.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations)

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must have and minimum five (5) years’ experience in one of the related fields: Low Voltage Technician / Installer, Structured Cabling Technician, Network Cable Installer / Technician, Telecom Installation Technician, etc.
  • Must be proficient with power/hand tools.
  • Required to have knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (NEC, NFPA 70e, OSHA, EIA, TIA, etc.) and ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Must have the ability to effectively interact/deal with and support the customers and employees. Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
  • Industry related certifications/experience highly desired (OSHA 10/30, BICSI, Aerial Lift Certification, etc.)
  • Previousmilitary service experience is a HUGE PLUS.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to perform heavy/strenuous manual work and be exposed to work in conditions which may include temperatures below 32°F and above 90°F.
  • MustMaintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-pacedmilitaryenvironment.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employeemust be ableto talk and hearin an industrial environment where ambient noises reach up to approximately 80dB due to safety requirements. Those hard of hearing, or using aides for hearing, must demonstrate their ability to clearly hear and communicate in this environment prior to consideration.
  • The employee must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas, including interior and exterior environments, tight spaces and areas of considerable height (30 feet above ground level)without being a potential trip hazard.Those who need walkingaidesor difficulty traversing will not be considered for this position due to safety requirements.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods(8+ hours daily)and frequently work on ladders and scaffolds.
  • Must be able to tolerate heights, to include working on lifts and ladders that can reach heights of 40-60 feet above ground, tops of light poles, or rooftops. Must be able to properly fit into required safety harnesses for tethering to rooftop anchor points or lift anchors.
  • Must be able to lift and carry tools, ladders, drawings, and equipment (up to 75 lbs. regularly), crouch, kneel, and work with tools and machinery.
  • Mustbe able to wear appropriate safety equipment (e.g. ahard-hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, steel-toe shoes,safety-harness,etc.) as necessary.
  • Must be able to pass initial and subsequent drug screenings as required for operating heavy machinery.

Clearance

  • Must be a United States Citizen.
  • Must be able to pass a background investigation(minimum T-1/NACI)prior to employmentand beginning work.
  • Must be eligible for a T-3 (Secret DoD Security Clearance) clearance.
