The Cable Assembler assembles cable products to meet customer requirements by following detailed work instructions and quality standards. It involves ensuring proper use of tools, maintaining specified torque settings, and performing functional testing to uphold assembly quality. The role also includes reporting non-conformances, collaborating effectively with team members, and supporting additional functions including cable assembly production, backup support for charger production, and assisting with shipping and receiving activities.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Key Functions

  • Assembling cable products according to customer needs by following work instructions, samples, and other specifications.
  • Collecting all materials and tools needed to begin the assembly process.
  • Assuring and maintaining specified assembly quality according to work instructions.
  • Checking incoming parts and outgoing assembly quality and reporting non-conformances in parts/product to Team Leader.
  • Working effectively in a team environment and co-operating with co-workers.
  • Performing functional testing.
  • Providing backup support for charger production as required.
  • Participating in shipping and receiving activities as necessary.
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety policies and rules are followed, with all tasks completed in a safety-conscious manner.
  • Completes any other tasks, projects, or duties as required by Management from time to time.

Skills, Experience, & Knowledge

  • Safety-first approach
  • Minimum one-year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience as an assembler on a production line
  • Good understanding of quality control principles
  • Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions (verbal and written)
  • Physically fit – may be required to lift units up to 15kg
  • Proficient in English, both oral and written

Qualifications/Licenses

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Applicable tertiary qualification would be an advantage

Physical Requirements

Must be able to frequently lift, push and pull up to 15 lbs., throughout daily shift and, on occasion, lift up to 40 lbs.

Work Environment

  • Hot/cold temperatures based on seasonal variations.
  • May be humidity, noise, odors, dust.
  • Safety precautions are a must to minimize potential exposure to mechanical hazards.

Compensation Disclosure

The rate of pay for this position is $23.00-26.00/hour. This represents a good faith disclosure of compensation. This range represents a good faith estimate for the position and actual compensation will be based on numerous factors including knowledge, location, skills, training and experience.
