Job description

Cable Assembly Technician

Location: Framingham
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Pay: $20.00-$22.00/hour

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Cable Assembly Technician to support their Hardware Engineering team with cable assembly, wiring harness fabrication, and hardware troubleshooting. This is a hands-on role involving the building and testing of cable assemblies used in GPS and tablet hardware systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Hardware Engineering team with cable assembly and troubleshooting
  • Perform wire crimping, soldering, stripping, and cutting
  • Build custom wiring harnesses and cable assemblies
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly instructions
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure quality and adherence to specifications
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with cable assemblies and wiring harnesses
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
  • Properly manage tools, equipment, and materials
  • Work with engineering staff to identify process improvements and resolve production issues
  • Document assembly processes and maintain accurate production records
  • Support additional hardware-related tasks as needed

Qualifications:

  • Experience with wire crimping, soldering, stripping, and cutting preferred
  • Previous experience in cable assembly, wiring harness fabrication, electronics, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical schematics
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily hands-on bench work in a hardware/production environment
  • May require sitting or standing for extended periods
