Description
We are seeking full-time Safety Cable Assemblers to support multiple stages of our production process, including ferrule loading, cable grinding, crimping, and related assembly tasks. Assemblers will be trained on Safety Cable part numbers, specifications, quality requirements, and proper procedures for each operation. This role involves operating automated and pneumatic equipment, assembling components, and performing routine quality checks to ensure products meet all dimensional, visual, and safety standards. Assemblers are expected to maintain accuracy, consistency, and efficient workflow across all assigned tasks.
Shift:
Monday-Thursday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Friday, 6:30AM - 3:00 PM
Essential Job Functions:
Equipment Operation:
Safety Cable Assemblers may perform any of the following based on assignment:
Ferrule Loading
  • Operate automated equipment to load ferrule magazines to the correct quantity.
  • Monitor equipment to verify proper operation and conduct periodic checks for ferrule count and orientation.
  • Respond promptly to abnormal machine behavior and notify supervision or maintenance when needed.

Grinding
  • Grind Safety Cable ends to required finished dimensions using manual-guided grinding equipment.
  • Perform grinding disc changeovers and monitor equipment performance.
  • Inspect cable ends throughout the process to ensure compliance with dimensional and visual specifications.

Crimping
  • String ferrules on cable using automated equipment, ensuring proper orientation and feed.
  • Operate pneumatic presses to crimp ferrules to specification, performing visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Set up and adjust crimping equipment according to part numbers, tooling, and required lengths.

Material Identification and Tracking
  • Identify and correctly handle various Safety Cable materials, including ferrules, cable types, and sleeves.
  • Verify part numbers, materials, and job specifications before beginning production.
  • Maintain accurate batch counts and document completed work as required.

Communication & Collaboration:
  • Communicate effectively with management regarding production status, non-conformances, and material or equipment concerns.
  • Work cooperatively with team members to support production flow and meet daily goals.

Quality & Safety Compliance:
  • Follow production drawings, work instructions, and part specifications for each product type.
  • Conduct in process inspections to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with quality standards.
  • Immediately report any out of spec conditions, material issues, or equipment problems.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering to all safety procedures.
