Overview
Our growing real estate financial services firm is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer (CPA) to provide our clients with high-level financial insights, lead an internal bookkeeping team, and expand tax strategy and advisory services.
This role is ideal for a CPA who enjoys both strategic oversight and day-to-day execution, thrives in a fast-growing service-based environment, and believes financial clarity creates freedom for business owners.
About the Role
You will empower real estate team leaders to build profitable, sustainable teams by translating complex financials into actionable insights. You will provide leadership across accounting operations, client advisory, and tax strategy while ensuring internal processes are accurate, scalable, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide CFO-level insights to real estate clients, helping them make informed financial decisions.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly revenue, profitability, and cash flow reports.
  • Support revenue recognition policies and P&L analysis (ASC 606).
  • Oversee all accounting operations, including month-end close and financial reporting under GAAP.
  • Lead and hold accountable a team of Lead Bookkeepers.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across client accounts.
  • Establish scalable workflows and operational best practices.
  • Provide proactive tax strategy guidance by aligning financials with optimized tax outcomes.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities related to income timing, expense categorization, entity structure, and cash flow.
  • Collaborate with external CPAs and tax professionals to align bookkeeping with agreed-upon strategies.
  • Advise clients and leadership on the financial and tax implications of business decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls.
  • Monitor multi-state compliance considerations as the firm grows.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Active CPA license (required).
  • Strong GAAP knowledge; ASC 606 experience preferred.
  • Experience in public accounting and/or professional services firms preferred.
  • Proven leadership experience managing accounting or bookkeeping teams.
  • Comfortable operating both strategically and hands-on.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients.
  • Experience with real estate teams or sales-based businesses preferred.
