Job description

About the role: This position is located onsite in Bridgman, MI. It is a long-term, full-time contract position. You will report to a client supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procure intermediate level of project related and transactional material and equipment following procurement guidelines with guidance of a Sr. Buyer.
  • Issue requests for quotations with guidance of a Sr. Buyer.
  • Help analyze bid proposals, negotiating with suppliers at an intermediate level and awarding purchase orders.
  • Help resolve basic discrepancies, commercial issues, change orders, or cancelations related to purchase orders.
  • Coordinate work with suppliers, Client's Legal, and Department partners on commercial issues, terms and conditions and specifications with occasional guidance of a Sr. Buyer.
  • Support the strategic agreement process by using blanket orders for projects and facilities.
  • Participate on teams for supplier performance evaluations providing feedback to the Supervisor.
  • Support the material standardization efforts of internal business.
  • Participate in facility issues such as outages and schedule requirements and support emergency service restoration with direction from a Supervisor.
  • Work with suppliers and expediters to resolve purchase order and delivery issues with occasional guidance of a Sr. Buyer.
  • Develop a basic knowledge of our client's Strategic Sourcing Process.

Qualifications:

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in business administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Inventory Management or similar discipline.
  • 2 years of experience in buying, contracting, supply chain logistics, inventory management, or business administration preferably in nuclear maybe considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 2 years of experience buying for a variety of products or departments.
  • Be able to pass criminal background, drug/alcohol screen (including medical and recreational marijuana and CBD oil), and employment testing.
