Job Description
SOSi is seeking an experienced and results-driven Capture Director to lead strategic business development and capture efforts within the company's Business Development organization. This high-impact role is responsible for identifying, shaping, and capturing key opportunities that support the growth objectives of the Civil and Homeland Solutions (CHS) Business Unit.
The Capture Director will develop and execute comprehensive capture strategies for high-priority pursuits, working closely with Business Development leadership, CHS Business Unit leadership, program managers, and technical stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a critical role in positioning SOSi for success by cultivating customer relationships, developing differentiated solutions, and driving winning strategies throughout the capture lifecycle.
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Business Development and Growth Lead for SOSi's CHS Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the capture lifecycle for strategic new business opportunities, from opportunity identification through proposal submission and award.
  • Develop and execute win strategies, customer engagement plans, competitive assessments, and capture plans that increase the probability of success.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with customers, industry partners, and key stakeholders in support of active pursuits.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers by articulating the value and capabilities of SOSi's solutions and service offerings.
  • Collaborate closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and technical leadership to identify, develop, and implement innovative capabilities that differentiate SOSi from competitors.
  • Leverage existing contract vehicles and acquisition pathways to streamline procurement processes and improve win outcomes.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including operations, technical experts, contracts, pricing, and proposal personnel, to develop comprehensive customer solutions.
  • Support corporate growth initiatives through participation in industry conferences, trade shows, marketing campaigns, and related business development activities.
  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships and teaming arrangements that enhance competitive positioning and maximize win probability.
  • Monitor market trends, customer priorities, and competitor activities to inform pursuit strategies and business growth plans.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in capture management, business development, program management, or a related field.
  • An advanced degree in a relevant discipline may substitute for up to five years of experience.
  • Demonstrated success capturing large, complex government or commercial pursuits.
  • Strong knowledge of capture management best practices, proposal development methodologies, and business growth strategies.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries.
  • Experience conducting customer engagements, executive briefings, and strategic planning sessions.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • High degree of professionalism, sound judgment, and unquestionable integrity in interactions with customers, partners, and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting U.S. federal government contracting, defense, homeland security, aerospace organizations.
  • Established network of customer and industry relationships within federal civilian, homeland security, or defense markets.
  • Experience capturing opportunities valued at $100M+ and managing complex, multi-disciplinary pursuit teams.
