Business Teacher

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development & Instruction:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national standards.
• Deliver lectures, conduct discussions, and facilitate activities to teach business concepts and skills.
• Utilize various instructional methods and technology to enhance student learning.
• Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs and student progress.

Student Assessment:

• Assess student progress and understanding through various methods, including tests, projects, and presentations.
• Provide constructive feedback to students to promote learning and improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and progress.

Classroom Management & Environment:

• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and administrators to improve teaching practices and student outcomes.

Professional Development & Collaboration:

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. 

Certification:

• New Jersey Instructional Certificate - Comprehensive Business or Teacher of Business.
• Other certifications are applicable, inquire with our department for further information.

Experience:

• Experience in the business field or teaching business subjects is preferred. 

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of business concepts and principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in using technology for instruction and assessment.
• Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
• Ability to create and implement effective lesson plans and assessments.

Additional Requirements:

• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or resident alien status.
• Valid NJ Driver's License (may be required depending on the position).

The Hiring Process

• Interview Process: Human Resources does not conduct initial interviews for teaching positions. These are handled directly by school administration. They will contact you directly should they have an opening.
• Selection: Should a need arise, school principals will review the candidate pool to select candidates for an interview. Interviews may be in person, virtual, and could include demonstration lessons.
• Onboarding: Human Resources will follow up with selected candidates to guide them through the onboarding process.
