SUMMARY: While delivering innovative solutions, exceptional service, and trusted results, the Business Services Manager (BSM) participates in a variety of business engagement activities, such as, industry sector groups, chamber of commerce, and economic development initiatives. The BSM is directly responsible for developing strong partnerships with entities serving businesses.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a positive, proactive, and results-oriented work culture that is innovative and representative of KRAโ€™s values and consistent with continuous quality improvement, as well as manage, direct and coach the Business Service Representative (BSR) team on effective business outreach strategies and development of customized solutions to meet performance benchmarks;
  • Develop and implement business services strategic plan to ensure successful implementation of a comprehensive business services strategy;
  • Develop individual KPI performance goals for the business services staff;
  • Oversees employer training and placements and client screening and referrals;
  • Establish data collection and tracking methods to track business services performance measures and customer satisfaction;
  • Serve as a communication link between businesses and their needs and the workforce development system and its services;
  • Customize business services to meet the different core issues and needs of different sectors of the regional economy;
  • Organize and participate in economic development and sector initiatives, Job Fairs, Employer informational sessions, networking events, Chamber of Commerce meetings, social activities, legislative roundtables;
  • Conduct workshops presentations on target sectors and labor market information to single businesses, large groups, and/or jobseekers;
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training, supervisory sessions, and accept the responsibility of aiding the development of positive team relationships as requested;
  • Recruit employers of all sizes, build long-term relationships, and maintain contact with them to meet emerging and changing needs of the region;
  • Facilitates the connection between economic development and workforce development;
  • Identify opportunities and strategies for improvements.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.

  • Must be a self-starter and committed to completing tasks timely, which may include working additional hours and/ or over the weekend as needed.
  • Travel approximately 20% of the time.
  • Bilingual; fluency in Spanish preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited college or university. The degree requirement may be substituted for eight (8) years of professional work experience.โ€ฏ
  • At least five (5)years of recruitment, account management or sales-related experience.
  • At least five (5)years of experience in a mid-senior leadership role.
  • Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software highly preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:โ€ฏPersonal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams) and other Microsoft Office Products (Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Ability to learn workforce related case management software.
