Job description

The PSL&D Business Operations Lead is responsible for strategic planning, operational governance, and execution of complex, cross-functional PharmSci Learning & Development initiatives. Reporting to the Head of PharmSci Learning & Development, this role operates with a high degree of autonomy and serves as a trusted partner driving the design, execution, and continuous improvement of PSL&D business operations, including planning, demand prioritization, governance processes, and operational infrastructure that enable learning, development, and compliance outcomes at scale. The incumbent will routinely navigate ambiguity, influence without authority, and lead initiatives that span multiple business lines, geographies, and stakeholder groups, ensuring alignment with BTxPS and PSSM strategy, regulatory requirements, and organizational priorities.

Organizational Operations & Team Enablement

  • Lead day-to-day operational support, including meeting strategy, agenda development, documentation, and follow-up to ensure effective decision-making and execution.

  • Coordinate functional planning cycles by managing timelines, milestones, and information flow to enable alignment across teams.

  • Strengthen operational rigor by maintaining core processes and driving consistency, clarity, and efficiency in team workflows.

Project & Initiative Coordination

  • Drive coordination of key cross-functional initiatives, managing timelines, deliverables, dependencies, and action items.

  • Monitor progress, identify risks or issues, and facilitate stakeholder alignment to ensure momentum across priorities.

  • Develop and maintain tools, templates, and documentation that support effective and scalable project execution.

Development Program & Event Operations

  • Lead operational coordination for L&D programs, workshops, stakeholder sessions, and team events.

  • Oversee scheduling, materials preparation, roster management, communications, and end-to-end program logistics.

  • Ensure seamless participant and facilitator experiences through proactive planning and operational excellence.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Support tracking and reporting of PSL&D goals, KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.

  • Synthesize data and insights to inform decision-making, performance reviews, and functional priorities.

  • Prepare executive-ready materials, summaries, and visuals for updates, reviews, and leadership discussions.

Communication & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Draft, refine, and coordinate written communications, meeting summaries, and functional updates.

  • Enable consistent, timely communication across PSL&D and key partner groups.

  • Serve as a central coordination point to support alignment on priorities, expectations, and commitments.

Technology, Tools & Continuous Improvement

  • Leverage Microsoft 365 (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook) and collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint) to support operational effectiveness.

  • Apply AI-enabled tools (e.g., Copilot) to streamline documentation, communication, and workflow efficiency.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to simplify processes, automate routine work, and improve ways of working through digital solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree required.with 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in business operations, enterprise program leadership, strategy execution, or operational management within complex, matrixed organizationOR Masters Degree with 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in business operations, enterprise program leadership, strategy execution, or operational management within complex, matrixed organization

  • Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives with significant scope, complexity, and organizational impact.

  • Proven ability to operate autonomously, make sound decisions in ambiguous environments, and deliver results with minimal oversight.

  • Strong financial, analytical, and operational acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, resource allocation, and portfolio management.

  • Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and leaders without direct authority.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear executive-level messaging.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint), and digital tools to enable operational effectiveness

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $116,000.00 to $193,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
