ABOUT THE ROLE 

As Principal Operational Readiness - Underground Operations and Shaft you will be responsible for ensuring optimal readiness for all people, processes and plant to enable Hermosa to deliver on its mine plan. You will work closely with the Technical Services team to understand the mine design and develop plans to integrate into future operations. You will also integrate deeply with the Engineering, Commissioning and Construction teams as the mine is being designed and constructed to ensure alignment on accountabilities, technology, systems and anything else required. You will ensure all underground positions are well understood and interconnected to optimally support the business objectives, keeping everyone safe, empowering decisions to the lowest possible organizational level to ensure all aspects of the mine are well understood.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to: 
    Underground Design to Operations: Accountable to develop and deliver a plan which embeds the mine design into operations and establishes all People, Process and Plant around this to deliver the ramp-up and all related performance expectations of the Underground.
    Commissioning: Partnering with the Commissioning team, ensure all assets meet requirements to operate and deliver the mine plan (ventilation, mining equipment, shafts, etc.) 

    Operational Processes & Systems: Support the documenting of all practices needed for every underground, Centro and other role and ensure this is clear to everyone using significant change management and in-person training.
    People, Plant and Processes: Ensure all aspects required to have our people ready to execute work safe and efficiently, ensure all plant is setup to deliver reliability and ensure processes to support every aspect of the mine are in place and the interfaces are all extremely well planned out to enable efficient world class mining outcomes.
    Innovation: Partner with Operational Readiness Innovation to test and enable the leading-edge options which can deliver on opportunities to set Hermosa apart on productivity from any mine in the world.

ABOUT YOU 
    Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 

    10 years underground mining experience including at least 5 years leading mining teams

    Demonstrated commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance in mining operations.
    Global Mining company and SAP experience
    Strong ability to integrate leading edge technology with in-field processes and to establish simple and effective outcomes. 

    Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
    Exceptional organizational and communication skills
    Ability to interact with employees at all levels within the organization.
