Job description

As theDirector of Business Intelligence,you'llhelp shape how data supports better decisions, stronger execution, and long-term growth across Hillenbrand. We provide highly engineered equipment and solutions for processing and material handling applications. This opportunity is remote within the United States, with preference for candidateslocatedin the Midwest or Eastern Time Zone.You'llguide enterprise data and analytics work that improves visibility, strengthens trust in information, and helps teamsoperatewith greater consistency and impact.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Define and lead business intelligence strategy by aligning enterprise data, analytics, and reporting priorities with digital transformation goals and measurable business outcomes.

  • Guidedata engineering and architecture by overseeing Azure Data Factory (ADF), Databricks, Azure SQL, Data Lake, and related platform capabilities to deliver secure, scalable, and reliable data solutions.

  • Build and standardize Power BI reporting byestablishingdashboards, reports, semantic models, and workspace practices that support consistent metrics, self-service analytics, and effective data storytelling.

  • Strengthen data governance by partnering on data quality, lineage, metadata, stewardship, and access controls to improve trust, compliance, and usability across enterprise data assets.

  • Lead and develop multidisciplinary teams by setting clear priorities, supporting collaboration, andmaintainingdisciplined execution across data engineering, analytics, visualization, and project delivery work.

  • Manage business intelligence programs bymaintainingroadmaps, tracking key performance indicators, resolving delivery risks, and coordinating internal teams and external partners toward meaningful results.

  • Partner with business and technology leaders by translating operational needs into practical analytics solutions that improve decision-making, performance visibility, and continuous improvement.

  • You'llwork across business functions, information technology, and external partners to deliver trusted data and analytics solutions in a collaborative environment where different perspectives are welcomed and respected.You'llhelp create clarity, accountability, and shared progress, and your work will support both day-to-day decisions and broader success across Hillenbrand.

THE EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES NEEDED:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, ora related field.

  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or related data-focused work, including 5+ years leading teams, programs, or enterprise initiatives.

  • Strong working knowledge of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Azure SQL, and Microsoft Power BI in business-critical environments.

  • Experience building and supporting data pipelines, transformation workflows, data models, and reporting solutions that are scalable, secure, and reliable.

  • Working knowledge of data governance practices, including data quality, lineage, metadata, stewardship, and role-based access controls.

  • Ability to lead cross-functional work, prioritize effectively, and drive disciplined execution across multiple initiatives with sound judgment and accountability.

  • Strong communicationskills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly, align stakeholders, and present progress, risks, and outcomes in a practical way.

  • Practical problem-solving skills, adaptability, and a continuous improvement mindset, with a collaborative approach that supports learning, consistency, and responsible decision-making. #LI-SC1
