Overview

The Manager, Business Intelligence leads the delivery, strategy and adoption of Business Intelligence products that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization. This role owns the BI product roadmap, ensuring alignment with business priorities and delivering high-impact, scalable reporting and analytics solutions while balancing business needs, technical capabilities and resource priorities while evolving standards, processes, and governance to enable consistent, efficient, and value-driven analytics delivery.

Responsibilities

Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and own BI product roadmaps aligned with business strategies and priorities.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to identify, prioritize and translate analytics needs into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
  • Present BI direction, BI product roadmap updates and key deliverables to stakeholders
  • Ensure BI products deliver actionable insights and measurable business value

Delivery & Execution

  • Own delivery of BI products, ensuring user adoption, change management, sustainment, iteration, quality and timeliness
  • Ensure reports are user-friendly, performant and aligned with design standards and best practices
  • Establish prioritization frameworks and manage competing demands
  • Ensure effective coordination across BI, Analytics Engineering and Data Engineering teams
  • Ensure proper scoping, milestone planning and timely delivery of team projects
  • Monitor delivery performance and drive continuous execution improvement, using an AI first approach to drive delivery and improvements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in Power BI, SQL, DAX, and data modelling.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for senior business stakeholders
  • Communicate priorities, progress, product releases and outcomes clearly to all relevant stakeholders
  • Manage expectations and drive alignment across functions
  • Partner with Analytics Engineering on semantic layer alignment and requirements
  • Promote adoption and effective and responsible use of BI and AI solutions
  • Promote adoption of modern BI and AI tools and capabilities (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Palantir Foundry as well as AI models and agents)

Governance & Standards

  • Ensure consistency in reporting, metrics and definitions
  • Ensure education on, and compliance with security, governance, standards and data policies
  • Drive improvements in BI processes, tools and ways of working

People Leadership

  • Lead, mentor and develop BI team members; provide constructive feedback and coaching
  • Conduct performance management, goal setting and career development planning
  • Build team capabilities in reporting, data storytelling and stakeholder engagement
  • Support hiring and team scaling as needed
  • Foster a culture of quality, collaboration, continuous improvements and accountability
  • Monitor usage and effectiveness of BI products and drive optimization
Qualifications
  • University degree required in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., Masters in Analytics/Statistics/Market Research) is preferred
  • 10+ years relevant experience, ideally in a reporting and/or analytics role
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and developing individuals.
  • Experience owning delivery and product roadmaps aligned with business strategy and operational needs.
  • Strong senior-level stakeholder management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of relational databases and data modeling.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving and innovative thinking skills.
  • Advanced experience with end-user report and dataset design, development, and implementation, with strong focus on Power BI and SAP Business Objects.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple team projects, balance competing priorities and maintain quality standards across complex, concurrent workstreams.
  • Advanced experience communicating technical details to both technical and non-technical audiences; proven ability to set standards and mentor team members.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, Power BI DAX, or other relevant coding languages.
  • Advanced experience managing data-related projects and mentoring peers in project management disciplines.
  • This role requires fluency in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data concepts, including the ability to critically evaluate AI outputs, improve workflows using approved tools, identify and mitigate bias or inaccuracies, and communicate AI-driven insights clearly and responsibly to peers and managers.
