Business Intelligence Developers study the organization's current information systems and procedures and design reports and data visualization tools to help the organization operate more efficiently and effectively. Business Intelligence Developers bring business and information technology (IT) together by understanding the needs and limitations of both. Business Intelligence Developers work to build, perform build validation and collaborate with subject matter experts to design and provide data outputs.**ON-SITE POSITION ONLY**

QUALIFICATIONS

License /Certification
Required: One ISS management approved certification/equivalent training in area of scope/support within one year of hire/transfer. Must keep required certification/equivalent training up-to-date (or within three years of original certification/training).
Education
Required: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred: Associate's degree or higher
Experience
Required: Experience as a Data Analyst, BI Developer, Database Administrator or equivalent. Experience using and developing reports. Experience in data analytics, large data sets, and problem solving. Experience with programming languages or development tools related to ETL (extract, transform, load). Equivalent combination of post-secondary education and experience may be substituted. If no experience in the above, five years experience in technology or healthcare related field required. Of the five years, at least three years of progressively responsible work experience as an application analyst (or equivalent).
Preferred: Reporting experience with Cerner applications. Experience with file transfers, writing queries and general scripting. Experience with relational databases. Experience with SQL, T-SQL, Cerner Command Language (CCL), Crystal Report Writer, SAP Business Objects Web Intelligence, Tableau, Power BI, SSIS, GoAnywhere MFT.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential
Translates business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources.
Assists in implementing effective business analytics practices that drive improved decision making, efficiency and performance.
Communicates with nontechnical business users to determine specific business requirements for reports and business intelligence solutions.
Communicates regularly with technical, applications and operational staff to ensure database integrity, security and optimized performance at the application and database level.
Identifies, communicates, and resolves data quality and data reconciliation issues.
Participates in and supports all planning and problem resolution.
Assists Sr BI Developers with audits and reviews and validating databases and reports to ensure data integrity.
Assists with developing and enforcing standards and procedures for the storage and retrieval of organizational data.
Works collaboratively with our customers, applications teams and clinical informatics to resolve data discrepancies and/or to clarify reporting procedures.
Maintains an accurate and comprehensive inventory of reports, data dictionaries databases and data visualization tools.
Processes data extracts using data retrieval and management tools.
Uses proven methodologies for analyzing and presenting data.
Works as part of a team of data management professionals supporting a portfolio of development projects.
Analyzes current system/application capabilities for possible solutions to minimize development.
Supports the development of Enterprise Data Architectures.
Project Expectations: Ensures project tasks are clearly outlined with start and end dates within the ISS approved solution. Ensures that the completion of project tasks are on time and helps with issues resolution. Clearly communicates when there is a potential missed deadline and ensure managers, project managers, directors and end users are all aware of a potential missed deadline. Ensures that time is tracked on project tasks within the ISS approved solution.
Ticketing solution expectations: Facilitates the resolution of application errors within the ISS approved SLA (Service Level Agreement). Maintains issue resolution documentation within the ISS approved helpdesk ticketing solution. Keeps tickets updated within SLA requirements. Maintains time worked on tickets and within the ISS approved helpdesk ticketing solution. Maintains high levels of customer satisfaction by constant communication and helping solve problems. Maintains a low number of assigned issues in the ticket queue.
